The PRAM is on the logic board. If the battery is not present, you will lose your time every time you restart, that's about it. No harm, really, just annoyance.

What a news story. Closest the "article" comes to a source is "supposedly".
Why would he release a jailbreak for 4.3 tomorrow when 4.3.1 is imminent? A vulnerability was found publicly at pwn2own that needs to be patched by Apple. Burning another vulnerability would be dumb. Sorry, just sayin'. It's not gonna be tomorrow.
I'm sure whoever posted the link to yet another lame !@#$@ iphone blog is just trying to drum up business for their site.
Oh what a surprise, ad banners and no news.
You know it's a crap site they are posting when they have to obscure their domain name using a url shortener.
Another person added to my ignore list. They clearly have nothing to add to any discussion here.

I would like the 3d fad to be just that....a fad. It gives me headaches, as does virtual reality. Spend the extra dough to make a better game, not 3d that does nothing for the product...like Avatar.

Okay, here is an update:
I spliced wires to match the mac motherboard connector, and the addition of an 24V adaptor to power the 25V line for the Apple ADC video. see an image of the FrankenPSU here (http://www.systemdisc.com/workarea.jpg)
I flipped on the power strip switch, powering the PS (pin 14 shorted) and the ac adaptor. The fan on the CPU spins, and a motherboard light powers on. The hard disk, however, will not start up with the motherboard connected. Also there is no video output.
I know my voltages for each connector pin are correct, but I have not checked current or paid any attention to rails. I don't know which Mac pin needs an independent +3.3V, for example, and which ATX wires provides it.
I wish I could post on xlr8yourmac, but the forums are closed to new users for some reason.

The government has the constitutional power to tax people. It's the price we all pay for living in this country. Freedom isn't free, right? Why is it that conservatives only seem to want pay that price in human blood?
Other, since the answers are no exhaustive. There isn't an option to say the government has the right to take money periodically to support the services it uses to protect its citizens and support a legislative agenda set by lawmakers elected in a democratic election.

Hi everyone,
I have Logic Express on my Macbook Pro but now I need a keyboard/speakers etc to be able to use it. I have no idea what to get - to be honest I want the cheapest possible just to get started as money is tight at the moment.
I'm a keyboard player so eventually I'd like a keyboard with weighted keys but it doesn't have to be to start with.
So: what keyboard? speakers? anything else?

Hey y'all. I just bought a new double din Navigation head unit for for car. One of the many media features is that it excepts a micro SD card. What I would like to be able to do is create a micro SD card from my Mac. What will be on the card are photos. I am not sure if you can put music or movies on it but I have an 80G ipod that I use for that. If I can put photos and images on it I can have them on the screen for the start up screen or as back drops. It would be great to have a photo of my wife and young children on there or a entire library of photos.
Anyway, I am not very computer savvy and need some guidance on how to do this.
Thanks
You need a USB card reader the accepts your micro SD card. Plug it in then the SD card will look just like a disk drive. Drag any files you like to the card. Eject the card and you are done.

At a minimum you'd want a Gigabit Ethernet Switch, and some CAT-5e cables. Over the 30-foot run, CAT-5 cables may work just as well.
If you haven't changed the Network settings on the Mac Pros, they should each pick up a self-assigned IP address as soon as you plug them into the switch, and they'll be able to talk to each other over the wired network.
The problem is that these machines presumably are all on the same wireless network. You want to ensure that the big files travel over the wired network and not the wireless. The default network service order for OS X puts the Ethernet network first, but some folks have observed that this doesn't always work as expected.
Using the self-assigned IP addresses when you open up folders on the remote machines will force the use of the wired network, but it's not as simple as just picking them off the Finder list. It may be worth manually configuring the IP addresses on the wired network if it turns out you have to type them into the Finder's Connect to Server dialog box often.

Did a crazy thing. tired of waiting on the iPad2 jailbreak, and now read that comex has dropped the project. so I ordered a jailbreakable iPad 1 as a fill-in.
AT&T has(d) the ipad1 3Gs for about half price. $329 (16gb), $429 (32,64). figure I can use it and resell it at near cost. It's a refurb with 90 days warr. whatda think?
I like tweaking and adding non-Apple functions and the iPad 2 has been less used w/o a jailbreak. I used my previous iPad1 32gb 3G a lot more. I sold it for over $800 in March, it had the unlimited data Plan that many people want. I've been reverting use to an iPod Touch 4gen with the retina screen, also a great device and more portable.

Why would they? The Intel models will run Windows anyhow. I don't think there would be much of a market for this product since the move to Intel is complete.
Tell that to the Parallels people. Bootcamp isn't the same thing.

It trickle charges after it fully charges. You could leave it plugged in 24/7 and it would be fine.
Exactly! You cannot overcharge it.

Hi folks,
I'm stump on a pageControl problem.
I made a simple View Based Application with a pagescroll through several images. This work fine especially when you click left of right of the pageControl.
The problem is the app crashes with a 'SIGABRT' error when click on the pageControl in another app with the same code. The difference is this view is called through a TAB Bar while the other isn't. The crash goes away when I remove the 'action sent' on the pageControl but obvious, I need it to call the changePage method.
I'm not sure if it's a delegate issue or not.
I'll keep the code short. Thanks.
