History Will Write :
1) The mistake was Microsoft competing with the Creative Zen (remember it).
2) The result is Microsoft killed both products;
3) The Zen had the market share (US and Internationally)
4) MS entered late, never really in the international marketplace, US only.
5) Both competing with the iPod that was global, was a mistake.
What's the Zen?
Regardless... Zune software was a completely different and BETTER (remember it) experience than iTunes.
Here's hoping Apple gets off their money-grubbing a$$es and strips away the bloat from iTunes. it's an absolutely horrible platform which they are using for anything and everything. Bad move Apple. It's like Apple is consulting with Ballmer on how NOT to innovate with iTunes.

They offer a choice. The .wav choice is priced higher than the .mp3, so I am guessing it is of higher quality. Is this true?

It's also possible for one SWF file to use a GoToandPlay command to tell another SWF file what to do... the way my Flash site works, there's a substrate Flash file (Main.swf) which loads into level 0, and which remains in place the entire time. All other SWF files load on top of level 0, in specific predetermined levels. So, an SWF file in one level (say, level 4) can send a message (GoToandPlay) to an SWF file in a different level (say, level 5) and make that SWF file do something... in this case, "continue" the animation of the golf ball by playing a particular sub-movie or sequence of frames.

There were several stories on that a while back. (http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=google+dns+slow+apple+downloads&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8)Don't recall the outcome.
FWIW, I'm on OpenDNS and I just installed Tiger from scratch on 2 machines and downloads were very fast.

The specs of the 15 incher are better than the 12".
1.5Ghz versus 1.33Ghz and 1Gb of RAM as opposed to 768 Mb
I'm hoping I can just drop my newer drive into the 15 incher and be done with it.
The new PB is on it's original drive, and my 250 Gb WD Scorpio is a helluva lot newer :D

In the advent of "smarter" smartphones I see no need for portable systems (for me at least).
Nintendo and Sony should take note (with the Xperia Play it seems at least Sony* have already).
Portable gaming is enormous in Japan -- Nintendo and Sony could be profitable for decades just selling their portable systems there.
Also, while there are many fun iOS titles, touch screen interfaces are just poor substitutes for traditional game controllers for many titles. As long as consoles are still relying on analog sticks and buttons, it'll be tough to replicate the experience enjoyably on a touch-screen device for many genres.

Sandy Bridge Processors which are the new generation of processors that right now we see in the new i3, i5 and i7 but there will be more upcoming cores that use this technology.

Black Ops looks like just another CoD game, nothing that hasn't been beaten to death before. Very stoked for GT5, Reach will be interesting and I hope Donkey Kong Country Returns comes out in the fall as well (easily my most loved game from E3 '10). Quite a few other games coming out that I forget at the moment.

With the MaxConnect BackPlane Attachment for Mac Pro [2010] Systems (SZ-MACPRO10-MS06) I can't make it out too well from the picture but it appears there's a small adapter attached onto the back of the hard drive ports correct?

The main reason I hate this idea is, I have a 3G iPod, which is easily apple's most poorly designed ipod.
You can FEEL for the buttons to skip or pause or whatever. Once you touch, you've already skipped to the next song. Having to contantly put on the lock button is very annoying.
To imagine just holding this and accidently activating a million options...
I can hope this is either a decoy, or that somehow apple has figured out something we arent seeing from the diagrams.
If it's anything like the 3G model.. NO! NO! NO!!! Bad Apple!
BTW What happened to the super hip anime style "none-touch" ipod?

Using VPC for Access is one of the good ideas.
However, MYsql is even better. My advice would be to buy a book, get caught up on the particulars, then get it. Also OS X has a great MYsql GUI-fied admin utility called YOURsql.
Open source baby!

If a word processor can even be dumbed down, it's been poorly designed... Pages is my wp of choice now for just about everything. I find Word too noisy-- I have never used more than half the functions in Word (even after putting in a good effort to "learn to use them effectively").
I agree with the crowd that thinks compatibility is important. There's two levels of compatibility though-- functional and superficial. If they can make it functionally compatible with a reasonable subset of Excel functions, then it will be enough for me to use and share files.
There are times though when superficial compatibility is critical-- where it needs to print and format on another machine just the way you wrote it. I run into this problem with Keynote-- I can export something to Powerpoint to use as a starting point for cleanup, but it's rarely presentable straight from export.
right on ms word gives me a headache. i go from pages to word for phys class and it takes me longer to do it in word. iwork is good but it could be better. numbers will be welcomed addition, now i don't have to use excel

It's a US Navy Battleship of some kind, my initial thought was part of The Great White Fleet, but I'm not sure.
I think you're right - check the bow.
;)
I'm laying money on the USS Missouri (BB-11) before the cage masts were fitted.

I'm not a big fan of Halo, but I'm pretty sure it isn't meant to be released worldwide until the 14th or something...
When Halo 3 was released, someone somehow got a copy of it the day before it was released. They went on Xbox LIVE with it (on the same day) and they were banned until December 31, 9999. I suggest you be careful until the 14th...
You won't be banned. Here is the word from Bungie themselves...
Some of you may even already be playing, courtesy of an eager retail store that couldnt wait until next Tuesday. But for the vast majority of you, we still have a few official days left and youre patiently waiting, finger on the trigger.... Tyson also dropped by and wanted us to inform everyone that the Credit wipe we told you about last week has been initiated and that if you've gotten a hold of a legitimate, legally obtained copy of Halo: Reach, please feel free to fire it up and play.
