i had an apple bt mouse... sold it only because i had no more bluetooth module, anyway. i used it for about a month before it was sold and i have never replaced the factor supplied energizer batteries, not to mention it was the best mouse i have ever had, but it was only one button, and man i hate that. if they just put a scrolling device on there it would be the greatest thing ever.

I don't understand the huge mess part of your comment. You can always display things at a size that is comfortable for you. It was when screen resolution was fixed that everything was a huge mess.
With fixed resolution a designer never knew if his product was going to be displayed at 640X480, 800x600, 1280x1024, widescreen, etc. etc. Now a designer can design at a suitable resolution and the user can scale to a size that is pratical for them.
It is a good thing people. Don't worry.
Ah, but YOU'RE missing the point completely. As resolutions inscrease the interface can scale up because it is resolution independent in 10.5. Web pages are NOT resolution independent for the most part. Photos, graphics, interfaces are not. So, when you're looking at your killter 3000x2000 monitor yes your icons and OS interface can scale up and your photos will look very crisp BECAUSE they are vector or have extra resolution to draw from. Websites on the other hand will be fixed at 800x600 or whatever and unless you want them to be miniscule on your screen as they are shown pixel for pixel, they will have to be blown up in some way.
So the res independence IS a good thing and just fine UNTIL the monitor resolutions go through the roof for the same physical screen sizes.
There are too many things outthere that are desinged WITHOUT the independence. Icons inside nearly every application for example. All kinds of stuff. My guess is that this won't affect too much too quickly. It just addresses some issues with the current interface on high screen monitors.

I will buy the MBA when it gets a backlit keyboard.
Completely agree .. I bought an MBP 13" unibody when it got upgraded with a backlight and its the best laptop ever ... when I went to test the latest MBA the lack of the backlit keyboard was the only thing stopping me from sidegrading to it (the only 'upgrade' would be the size/weight shrinkage, the other specs would be a downgrade).
As the MBP 13" unibody was introduced without a backlit keyboard then I suspect the MBAs will get them at the next bump or maybe the one after that .. I guess it will depend upon what Apple do with the chipsets and whether there is enough battery spare for the leds 8-)

i agree they do seem to try harder. i dont think of it as me being hypocritical. i just hold android to a higher standard... it's supposed to be about openness... that's what i feel google intended. if i'm going to get one (which i probably will eventually) i want to be able to do what i want with it without the manufacturer/provider on my back
Yeah, openness in the sense that if you open a store you allow anyone to sell whatever they want, be it kids toys, porn, chicken on a stick, or 1980s style leotards.... but open doesn't mean you let people tear out a wall and expand your store's building into the parking lot.
Android allows you to create and distribute apps that will mod just about every aspect of the OS. If you attempt to build an app that makes the iPhone keyboard black, you'll be shut down quicker than a hooker in an elementary school. Not the case with Android, because it's "open" :-)
The debate will never end on this subject, but numbers are what speak.... and right now the momentum in the mobile phone AND tablet space is 100% in Android's court in both categories.

There's a conversion tool at this site called WMA to MP3 converter which will do the task, but I believe that WinAMP can do this as well, along with WMP9 itselt, I think.

congrats for the iBook. Now TenFourFox is intended to be already set to play youtube videos at low resolution and quality, 360p is really choppy on mine, be sure to use flashblock, it will make browsing experience far better, one good thing you can do for videos is to use the method i explained in my other thread by replacing youtube's default player with quicktime, use MacTubes, or download an Firefox extension within TenFourFox named SmartVideo For YouTube 0.8 in which you can set the videos to start buffering as soon as page loads and select small quality display, with that i can watch youtube videos just fine, test all three and see what you like more :)

The pictures seem like they have a low shutter speed, or the sound is the problem?
The mirror flapping around probably takes around 1/8 of a second and makes much more noise than the shutter.

1.0.2 version is out
Has anyone tested it to see if it works on VPN or not? I'm not at home so I don't want to update from work and not be able to watch TV the rest of the day.

...snip but then the more realistic gaming like Forza or Gran Turismo will require physical controllers, imagine having to look away from the screen to check where handbrake, or the gearstick was on the screen, and when you look back up, you've collided into a wall.
You said everything well, but I especially like this line. Some other poster above made the claim racing is better on touch screen.

Arn,
I found an error. When you click on the links such as community discussion all (http://forums.macrumors.com/forumdisplay.php3?forumid=20) you get a 404 error. Just to let you know...(if you already don't know about it) It's the same for the article discussion too. Not the other two.

AT&T sold 3.6, apple says 18.65. Did verizon sell the rest of the ~15 million?
I haven't looked at the numbers, but Apple would be including global sales.

i'd hope someone who is able to code to figure out to google his answer especially for something like an asp shopping cart....
:o true, sorry about the laziness. I couldn't find anything worthwile so I thought it'd be good to get some advice from the good people at MR. The problem with googling "ASP .NET shopping cart" is that the first 1000 pages or so will be about non-free stuff. Adding "open source" or "free" didn't improve the results that much either. I think I'm going to give PHP another shot since there's tons of open source stuff for it.

4.3. Or 4.3.1. I would take either one right now. Prob the same for 99% of iPad 2 users.

At first you won't need more than 1 terabyte. Honestly...also, TWO cores is enough to do heavy photo editing AND listen to music while you're doing it.
Also, keep in mind that harddrives last 5-6 years....CD's and DVD's can last decades. Back up important data to CD's and DVD's and keep them safe...
If you ever go into photography as a pro, and somebody wants a copy of their wedding photos it would be nice if you're able to provide it 20 years after the occasion. Photo prints don't last hundreds of years, eventually the prints may need to be reprinted :)
Keep these things in mind.

Just double checking once again, Once im ordering my Ibook/Powerbook I will only have to order the AirPort Express Base Station and theres no need for me to buy the AirPort Extreme Card since it comes built in?
Airport Express is GREAT! You will love it!
Of the four people I've helped / convinced to switch - three of them HAD to buy an Airport Express. Sure there are lots of wireless routers out there... but AirTunes is just cool.
