PDF does not allow for the complexity possible with a web site. That route is just never going to work.
And if the web-site was written so as to only work in IE, then you are stuck there. And you should be careful, since a portion of the sites coded specifically for IE 6 will fall apart in any other browser, including newer versions of IE.

Thanks. I tried but those 'ruby' by teamsserver is still taking up all the cpu usage. Have any idea how I can get them out?
I would kill them. The "Off" switch should prevent anything wiki related from starting up again.

I only have 229 posts... :(
Also I'm not exactly looking to sell... I just wanted to gauge what it could sell for... it's under consideration right now though amongst a few things I want to sell.
I wasn't intending on offering to sell it on Macrumors in any way though.
I can't even see the Marketplace forum... where the heck is it?
You can't see the Marketplace, as you don't have 250+ posts yet. See the above post with the excerpts of the rules.
You are not allowed for pricing advise outside of the Marketplace. See the above post with the excerpts of the rules.
Why don't you price your MBP and then your SSD and get an estimate via that way?

Post the code that doesn't work.
1. Describe what you expected to happen.
2. Describe what actually happened. (Include any error messages)

For Toy Story 3 coming out this week, I wanted to take advantage of the ATV drives that the Iconfactory put out. I'm hoping they put out a few more, but these are kind of cool for the time being.
That's brilliant!

You will be constrained by the through-put of USB with an external drive VM.
That said, you could put a VM instance on an external drive and run it from there.
Alternately just store the VM on the external, and move it to the SSD when you need it.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate on a 9 gig VM using 512K of memory...so you may not need as much SSD space as you think.
Of course, gaming will change this pretty fast.
Would it be better t o try and do this off of a memory stick? How many gigs would I need?
By games I'm talking about mostly casual games with small clients and low GPU usage...

just use the migration assistant either in the new account setup via firewire or do the transfer after the account is created on the new computer via ethernet (just make sure the username/short name is not the same on your old computer). you can then just delete the account on the iMac either in single user mode or by creating a new admin account and deleting it when logged in from there

MacTelChat has found hidden references in iPhoto 6.0.5 (http://www.mactelchat.com/articles/237-iphoto-6-0-5-shows-evidence.html) that show Apple is preparing iPhoto for integration with Google Maps. It appears as though a hidden button in the interface would allow hidden GPS attributes about a photo to link with Google Maps and show where in the world a picture was taken.
This news comes as AppleInsider revisits a patent application (http://www.appleinsider.com/article.php?id=2103) discovered in September by MacNN (http://www.macnn.com/blogs/?p=98) for a "multi-functional handheld device." According to the patent, the device could contain a multitude of hardware features, including:
- Microphone
- Force Sensing
- Camera
- GPS
- Cellular radio
AppleInsider also notes that Apple may be behind a survey conducted in the spring, which asked users to "rate their preference of form factor designs for a next-generation Internet handheld device."

The iPad 2 and iPhone 5 are still iPads and iPhones. Why would they get a separate forum anyway?
Well, the thought is that if there is a sub forum under each product for speculation, it would keep the main forum a lot cleaner. Right now in the iPad forum every other thread is another "what do you want to see in iPad 2?" thread. It makes it harder to find topics on the current iPad.
I have seen it done on other boards successfully and we already have sub forums for things like "launch meetups." Do we really need those still 7 months after a product is released?
There are a lot of products and it may not make sense in the imac/macbookpro/mac mini forums. But I would recommend it for the iPad/iPod/Iphone forums.
Just a suggestion though. It might be a lot of work to keep up with.

More info required: When you scroll to the bottom of the Cydia front page, what does the version number say? 1.0.3222-73? And are the apps you got in Cydia still there? Can you add a repository to Cydia? Do you have iFile and SSH? And you aren't using any cracked apps, are you?
i do have ifile and ssh and i will check on other stuff. no cracked apps but what would that do with it?

Sorry I was half asleep when I wrote this
There is a network in place that looks like it was put together by 8 year olds. We have routers that are somehow being used as switches its a mess.
We dont make that much use of the wired network to be honest. I would like to make more use of it, but, that is not really up to me. This was the first time that I had really looked at the network as it stopped functioning and I was asked to take a look at it.
At the moment there really are no services being hosted (unless you want to count a Time Capsule..), I would however like to add some security to the network, also a few services. Its about 30 computers, 20 phones, 10 misc.
I guess my question here is weather or not the AirPort really has the backbone to handle a network this large. When I have done networks this big Im usually running it though a gateway to distribute DNS and IPs to the network and not making use of dedicated router hardware (So I;m usually using an XServe or Mac Pro in place of a router)
So do you guys think that I need to convince the board here to upgrade to better hardware of should what we have be good?

Steve,
I'm not sure about Quark Xpress 8 as I currently use Quark Xpress 7 but I have been using Quark Xpress since version version 2.1 and as far as I can remember (at least since version 3.1), control + shift doesn't zoom. Control (by itself, not using any other keys) is zoom in and Control + option is zoom out. Also the "Alt" key or as most Mac people call it the "option" key should allow you to move the page around. You mentioned both the "Alt" key and the "option" key in your original post. They are the same thing. Are you trying to use the "command" key to move the page around?
Sometime after version 4, Quark added an option in the Preferences allowing you to change the behavior of the "Control" key. If you go to the Preferences/Input Settings you can change the "control" key to zoom or to contextual menu. Before the normal behavior was to use the "control key" to zoom in but now the default settings is to have the "control key" to activate the contextual menu. And you can zoom in and out of text boxes.
Things might have changed in version 8 but I would guess that they are the same as version 7. Version 8 might have some different Preference settings as well (like changing what the "option" key does), it is worth checking into.
I wish you the best of luck.

Comex has been updating his twitter, not sure if any of you follow it or not:
@comex: yeah, uh. I can find kernel exploits, but this is ridiculous.
@comex: As noticed by @0naj, my kernel exploit was fixed in 4.3.1.
@comex: I try not to be paranoid, but it is really hard to explain this as anything but a leak.
@comex: The funny thing is that my "new" kernel exploit is actually the kernel exploit used by JailbreakMe 2.0. It was never properly fixed.
@comex: It stayed there from 4.0.2 through 4.3, but was magically found in time for 4.3.1. well, go go @MuscleNerd and @i0n1c I guess
It doesn't seem to be looking very good for 4.3.1

Is this worth taking to Apple? I arrowed the problem areas in the photos. The screen is an IPS panel, which has amazing viewing angles. But when looking at the screen from even a slight angle left or right, I see a band of white light along the edge. It's on the other edge (left edge of screen) too but that edge is slightly harder to see. It's more apparent on the right edge, towards the top and it tapers down to the bottom. This was a replacement unit when my prior iPhone's home button stopped working. I checked my friends' iPhone 4s and the screen is even under various viewing angles.
