Hey Nick, I'm in the same situation as the OP.
I'm going to a concert and I want to try recording some video. Are you absolutely sure the modified speaker box won't make the sound get distorted?
I want to get the juice pack air (since I need the extra battery life) and I want to be sure I get the best sound.
(Remember we're talking about recording video+sound, not playing music or video..I'm sure the speaker box is great for that)

I don't think it is possible without a reinstall. Why don't you just stop any service you don't need?
Figured it out. It kept trying to relaunch because the wiki server was turned on for some reason(everything else was disabled). Disabled that and collabd quit.

I was taking an after-school course and I didn't hear anything until that finished at 4PM. My Mum was waiting for me outside in the car and as soon as I got in she asked me whether I had heard about what had happened. I said that I hadn't and she said that two planes had crashed into World Trade Centre buildings. I remember thinking, what the hell are the World Trade Centre buildings? I honestly hadn't heard of them before 9/11. I can also remember sort of shrugging it off, I didn't think it was as major then as it turned out to be.
So, we got home and my Dad was watching Sky News. I saw the pictures and literally couldn't say anything for about ten minutes. I quietly made my way upstairs and got changed out of my school uniform and then returned to sit with my Parents for the rest of the night watching various news programmes, truly shocked at what had happened.

You're right.
I looked at the docs for applicationShouldTerminateAfterLastWindowClosed and it says:
It sends this message regardless of whether there are still panels open. (A panel in this case is defined as being an instance of NSPanel or one of its subclasses.)
So you need to handle this somehow, possibly like this:

Hi guys, I need help with trying to open up Firefox after there was an automatic update by Firefox. The Firefox icon bounces once when I try to open it but it doesn't open anymore much to my dismay.
I am using a old IMac 10.4.11. I tried to restart and reboot but nothing has worked.
If Firefox can't be opened again, is there a way I can retrieve my bookmarks on there? I can't even open it up so I don't know if that's possible.
Thanks

This looks like just another sim overlay solution. Nothing is done to the phone. They use a small IC and just trick the phone into thinking it has an authorized sim in it.
These are not new.
...what are you talking about? This involves using your phone's IMEI number and putting it into Apple's database of unlocked iPhones.

I dunno, I'm not sure I like apple having complete dominance. It doesn't bode well for future upgrading of products... iPod classic for example.
As is though the iPods are simply the best

If your MDP->DP cables are from Monoprice (or are the same as those from Monoprice) then that's your problem. Those cables are crap. They don't send a proper active signal or something when you start up.
You need to get cables from at least Circuit Assembly.
You can read about how we discovered everything about this in this thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1001577).
For now, though, to get your Mac Pro started, before turning it on, unplug the MDP/DP monitors so only the DVI monitor is in, and turn on the machine. Wait for the grey screen to appear on it and then plug in the other monitors again.

If they truly plan to release a new device, not about the music, but designed for video users, then who cares about one hand? When you have the attention available to be watching video, you probably have two hands available too (at least I hope you're not watching this while driving). I think the interface could be very awesome and extremely easy to use if someone could get the engineering right to ignore accidental input and always respond to intentional input.

Are you serious?
Whether it was meant seriously or jokingly, I think the comment was out of line. The folks who do the jailbreaks use and give their skills and time without any real desire for reward. After reading similar and even worse comments across multiple forums, I'm surprised the jailbreakers even continue their work.
It's grown into something for too many that's an expected entitlement through near demand instead of something that's eagerly awaited through patience.

Ello' guys and garls'!
So, my beloved MacBook Air "13 Ultimate (2.13GHz / 4GB / 25GB) Fans go crazy whenever i watch flash, for example i watch CTFXc (like 12 mins videos) and the fans are kicking in almost instantly and keep spinning until a few minutes after i stop watching the videos.
Now, this problem weren't that bad when i got it, that was around january, back then the weather was a lot colder outside than it is now.
January = -15 to -5 C
Now = 10 to 26 C
I have no idea if it's the weather (:D) but that's my theori.
Is this normal or what? when i feel it, it doesn't feel that warm, like my MacBook Pro does for instance.
Hope you guys can help.
Hope you had a nice weekend.:apple:

Well, glad I just sold my copy of Virtual PC for $130 yesterday. :)
On another note, the AI article adds this:
Sometime later this year, Microsoft said it will release its first Universal application, Messenger for Mac 6.0.
Now that's just sad that MS can't get Office universal before 2007. Bet they are pretty sore about Apple's latest cracks against Vista. :(

Hi all!
I bought the MiniDisplay to VGA adapter. Then I connected my Macbook Alluminium to a TV, a monitor, a brand new monitor. Everything LCD. I have everytime the same problem: the image has shadows (you can even see the trace of the mouse pointer). If i watch a movie, then it seems that the image i refreshed half of the times that should. If I move a quicktime window with a movie inside, then you can see the "old" image still for like 1/4 of second, and so a lot of "doubled images" with a very short life that follows the quicktime window while moving. The feeling is exactly the same as using a 15 years old TFT monitor (do you remember? ;) ). I tried playing with refresh rate and SwitchResX, and tried two different cables/adapters, but nothing worked..
Any help is welcome. :)
p.s. Leopard 10.5.8, nvidia 9400m, macbook unibody alluminium 2009
Thankyou,
Stefano.
Same VGA cable each time? How long? Old? New? Does the VGA cable itself work wih other devices as expected?
Could also be bad mini-DP to VGA converter.

I never understood the point of "folding". So pointless
I could say the same about your post.
I think its a worthwhile endeavor. I happen to do SETI though, not folding. At least till I get 1000 units done on SETI. Thats my goal.

lets now all place bets on who will win the challenge between p0sixninja and geohot and who will get it first?
My money is on geohot by far no disrespect to p0sixninja but geohot is not human.

I've always heard that the Zune was a good device, but Microsoft just did an abysmal job at marketing.
This is true. A lot of people are talking trash about the devices but I doubt anyone as ever used one. To me the UI was much more concise than the iPod, the hardware was very high quality (sound from the headphone port was far superior to what the iPod outputs) and the Zune Marketplace has a nice "recommended" music software. In the end, it was poor implementation and the Apple freight train that made the Zune fail.
I don't know why people are happy about this though. Do you really only want one music player in the market? No one wants a choice? How about competition? Competition is what drives companies to innovate. I really want some company to come out with a product that pushes Apple to an even higher level of innovation. So far no one has done it.
