Magento is built for Ecommerce. It's bloated like OSC, but there is a big support structure, and it's more modular then OSC for your plugings and themes. We do everything in Magento and Magento Enterprise now.

I disagree with you on that. Kanye isn't trying to imitate the greats that came before him. He has a completely different style that is unlike anyone I can think of. IMO, he is one of the most original rappers out there.

I hear you, I didn't mean pale imitation as in "to imitate", I just think he is like hip-hop "Lite" or the "Light Edition" version. IMO he lacks real content and depth, contentwise he can't touch the greats who have come before him. He is just too crossover Top 40 for my taste, if it wasn't for all the guest appearances by other artists on his albums, I don't think they would be half as good as they are...Just my opinion...

One other issue - I was importing some Nirvana songs, and the song and album titles were not coming up correctly as they were being imported. It would say "Track 01" instead of "Smells Like Teen Spirit." Nirvana is pretty common, and even though their albums are from the early 90's, I would expect iTunes to recognize the songs.

Any thoughts?

Ok my wife really relies on her palm pda for work and her palm m125 just died. Her birthday is next weekend and she really needs a new pda.

We just bought a Mac and I am curious as to if Apple has anything that works better than a plam based OS? I would love to buy her an Ipod nano but she needs to be able to enter data away from the computer. Is a palm based OS the best way to go? And if so anyone have any personal suggestions?

I was watching the iMovie 11 presentation and I'm just curious about predictions to FCP 8, especially the interface. We can be certain of the technical improvements in media management and power -- multi-core, 64 bit. But from iMovie 11 I see

1. Totally integrated visual sound editing, live with all the tools from Sound Track Pro. Who wants to go out to a sperate application. No need.
2. Which means proper titling software is truly built in
3. And of course effects are now much simpler to apply and preview. Perhaps the left hand window is completely context sensitive -- effects, sound editing, or source footage -- with the ability to edit in that window with dragging a selection area and cut into the timeline
4. Of course there will be some sort of realtime compression as you continue to work. And the compression engine will be completely overhauled.

DVD Studio Pro needs a complete overhaul too and should support blu-ray authoring. Perhaps the bag of hurt is coming to Lion :-) But burners will be Thunderbolt external only, making it of use primarily to content creators protecting Apple's Digital Download model. But at least thunderbolt is fast enough to allow for the fastest blu-ray burners.

Anyhow, some of these changes speak to the rumor of a more consumer version. It will be MORE powerful than iMovie 11, but include live effects and powerful sound editing without having to exit the application, much like iMovie. Of course media management (final cut server) will be vastly improved and integrated into this one version. Enjoy!

Hi, I've got a plist file with jpeg photo data in it. I need to get that photo out. I can read the plist file into an NSDictionary and can access the object at the key "jpegphoto". The problem is that the object returned is an NSCFArray that I have no idea how to work with. I can print it and I see a nice stream of octets come out, but that's all I know how to do. How do I get this NSCFArray into NSData or a byte array?

The CFArray when passed to NSLog like so
NSLog(@"%@", [data_dictionary objectForKey:@"jpegphoto"]);
Spits out hundreds of line similar to
5ed15ee6 df44b2ff 00899699 0dd23b58 dccdcadc 6c8d04e1 8b3e1940 af76953e 7c0e1b56
I know that it is a CFArray b/c I did
NSLog(@"%@", NSStringFromClass([[data_dictionary objectForKey:@"jpegphoto"] class]));
And got back
NSCFArray

You better get a firm grasp on SQL Server as well. SQL Server and Oracle do not function the same way, such as number of connections should you use, how indexing works, etc.

Of course, if your app only needs to scale to a hundred users or so, then you may be okay with skimping on the database end.

Do you remember how much it was sold for?

If I can remember correctly it was expensive, something like $250 which is why I passed on it, Maple Ridge auctions had one also, similar price.

One went here in the UK not so long ago for about �75 but not in as nice a condition as yours.

true, That's what I am expecting to happen.
They lowered the iPod prices and that opened room for the hi-end Video ipod priced at $400 or $500.
So it might happen. The big question is if they are ready for this on the holiday season or later maybe at MWSF. We'll find out in 2 to 3 weeks if they do not announce it a week or so before Thanksgiving.

There was a post earlier that suggested it was just a marketing hold-up. This could very well be a production hang up. They don't want to announce it until they have 5 million of them stamped out and in containers in a warehouse in LA.

If they get them produced by some deadline(Late November most likely) then announce either just before black friday or then. Otherwise push back to Jan

I wonder if we started pooling some money together as a bounty for the first team to jailbreak it, if it would motivate more people to work on it. I wouldn't mind throwing in $20-30.

Either way I know I'm going to donate some to whatever team puts their release out first, it's really cool that these guys put in all their free time to do things like this. I can't wait to play some snes games with the wii classic controller pro on my iPad :D

I hope superbrothers sword and sorcery is good, I just bought it and I'm hoping it's as good as everyone says it is.

Don't think the people that do this, do it for money. Think they do it for the fact they can do it. That is why I think the jbs are always free.

Hope more Apple products could be made in Brazil and export to the rest of Latin America.
