That's exactly what's going on with mine. It is so frustrating. I've done everything I can think of to no avail. Apple needs to fix this. This is not typical of "it just works" concerning Apple products.

Blackberry PlayBook is the same.
My nephew demo'ed his for me yesterday.
Naturally, he got the 64gig model.
Is it Canadian pride? I can think of no other reason to own one.

Coolbook is the solution.
I had both an 11" ultimate and a 13" ultimate. I preferred the extra screen real estate so I wanted to keep the 13" .... but the fan noise bugged me.
Flash, running windows via VM, photo editing, moving large files all made my 13" roar. (For whatever reason the 11" ran much quieter doing the same tasks.)
I'd read some posts here about Coolbook, I was reluctant to try it ... as a last resort before deciding to give up the 13" I installed it, used the recommend settings found here in this forum and voila my 13" has ran much quieter and cooler since.
I can work in Windows for hours, no fan noise, watch Flash everything.
Very impressed, it allowed me to keep my 13"!

It is a charger from a company rather than an official one, but all the voltage readings and so on are the same on both chargers.

Imagine where the CD would be today if Philips had never licensed it.
Who still uses CDs? hehe
They're large, clumsy, rigid, and prone to scratching. So are DVDs. And HD-DVDs/Blu-Ray. When are content providers going to get some brains and start licensing on read-only solid state? How many MB is an hour of decently endoded music? 256? We're talking a couple bucks on flash chips here.
Hehe... just a long-time vision of mine... which has yet to be realized. And I couldn't help but make fun of poor old CDs. They're going the way of the Cassette Tape. Who ever thought Mr "Scratch me and I'm useless" CD'son was a good idea. ;) :D

Quite a lot of us own Apple products in Madagascar; we have an Apple store in Antananarivo, as well. You'd be surprised. Have you visited SW Africa?

What are you using to connect the headset with?
Music files are stereo, and have only 2 channels. I do not know why you'd want to output in simulated surround sound, you'd lose audio resolution.

Microsoft had no business ever entering the market. By the time Zune shipped, Apple already had 70%+ market share in dozens of countries and had you locked in with iTunes. They were too late to the game.
Sadly, they will likely repeat this in tablets. They want Windows on it but now realize that it makes no sense. If they can ever scale Windows Phone 7 or to be a tablet OS or create a real tablet OS, the shake out in tablets will have already occurred.
I don't see another xbox in Microsoft's future.

Microsoft has announced that it has halted development on a universal version of VirtualPC.
In a statement on Monday, Microsoft said it "has made the decision not to move forward with a Universal version of Virtual PC at this time." -- via News.com (http://news.com.com/2100-1012_3-6102930.html?part=rss&tag=6102930&subj=news)
VirtualPC has long-been the king of the hill for Virtualization on Macintosh. With the Intel transition, however, came competitive pressure from Parallels (http://www.parallels.com/en/products/desktop/), which has since released the final version of its product, and VMWare which is showcasing a beta (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/08/20060805151513.shtml) of its solution at WWDC.
Microsoft has claimed that to port VirtualPC to Intel would be much like making VirtualPC 1.0 all over again.
Because of how closely virtualization software is tied to an operating system, Microsoft said that moving Virtual PC to the Intel-based Mac would be "similar to creating a version 1.0 release."

That's a good cheat sheet you have Burnsey. We should all buy US Postal stamps and mail those to our Senators and Representatives Republicans and Dems alike.

Anyone with experience with this product?
I have a G5 that is functioning in a room without a cable hookup. I purchased a Rosewill RNX-N2X USB Wireless Adapter (http://www.rosewill.com/products/1120/productDetail.htm) to connect to my G5 to my wireless router. The install seemed to go well. I setup a profile, entered by password, and the The Rosewill Utility says I have a connection to my router however, in my Mac Network System Preferences page, the USB connection says "USB Ethernet (en1) has a self-assigned IP address and may not be able to connect". Indeed, I am not connected. I have selected Configure using DHCP.
I have read the manual which is not helpful. I plan on calling Rosewill tech support later, but thought I would throw this question out in the meantime hoping to get some easy configuration adjustment advice. Thanks!

I'm no expert, but it's a user land exploit which is in the firmware itself. Jailbreaks on other iDevices are hardware which means Jailbreakable for life.
It's most likely going to be at jailbreakme.com, which is a .PDF used to exploit. So I guess a few days at most. It's not going to be a program like Redsn0w or pwnagetool.
So it should be pretty quick.
I don't understand why everyone is getting so mad. It got moved, chill out.
Muscelnerd tweeted that all iPad 2 jailbreaks would have to be userland. Im glad comex found an exploit...and especially this fast.

Not sure of Magsafe/MBA-friendly options for Tekkeon MP3750, MP3450 or MP3450i (http://www.tekkeon.com/products-mypowerall.html). ('R2' flavor of MP3450i sold at 3gstore.com; not sure what 'R2' does, don't yet see 'R2' description/notes at Tekkeon.com.)
Tekkeon *does* (or at least _did_) make a power adapter for MacBook Pro/Air... but it's kind of a home-made jobby, and they only had -one- left. They don't plan to make anymore. So I snagged it (even though I didn't buy one of their batteries yet).
Apparently this cable/adapter can be home-made via taking the tip/cable off a Magsafe adapter and wiring it together with one of their (or some commodity) part, awaiting info on that. If anyone's interested, lemme know and I'll post.
In meantime... why no love for this thread? Would think with MacBook Air's having no interchange-able battery that there'd be lots of folks interested in external/extended batteries for MBAs...? to help for extended away-from-"wall"-power-socket time (for me it's sitting and working outside for long stretches)...?

Well done, Manzana.

Mine attracts dust as well. However, it feels good in my hand and does and an excellent job protecting the screen and case. I always wondered why not cover the scroll wheel? I guess it was b/c they want me to buy 2 iSkins. I will be buying when they ship. :)

check if they require verification for you to change your email address. If not, it's probably fake.
It doesn't verify....interesting. Oh well, it was an interesting thought for a little while.
