Yep. That is why the viphone did not sell through... Verizon customers have lots of excellent choices when it comes to smart phones. No question if you are using a late model top tier android device like the dx it is Painful going back to a viphone. Add to that real 12Mbit plus downloads only on Verizon and only on android phones and apples offerings are not even in the game.

The viphone kills in video conferencing though....

Tho I really wonder who is using Facetime? I know everyone talks about it like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, but it's like the webcam on my mac, yeah it's nice to have when I call my mom across the country, but it's something I'd use about 0.01% of the time, and if I were going to use it, it's more likely I'd tell my mom to get on the computer and skype me on my computer to have full screen HD video chat...

I just got an LG VX 7000 as a Hanukkah present, (my parents said - pick a new cell phone under 200, get a new contract, we'll buy the phone) and I feel the need to review this product as many people don't know much about it.

I grade cell phones based on the following:

Ease of use/menus
Graphic interface
Battery life
Audio quality
Screen quality
Quality of additional features
Design

East of use/menus: The LG VX 7000 uses a creative tabbed menu system that sometimes reminds me of a web browser. While completely uncomplicated, you might have to go through a multitude of menus to find what you want.

Pro User: A
Grandparent: B

Graphic Interface: The beautiful and crisp GUI really enhances the value of this phone. The startup graphics are incredible, and this displays pics well.

Pro User: A+
Grandparent: A+

Battery Life: For a color phone, this is a big improvement on earlier LG models. It will definately get you through the day and evening on a charge, if not last through the night and the better part of the following day depending on usage. Also, there are four battery bars instead of three, which makes it easier to have a range without guessing where you are.

Pro User: A

Audio Quality: The audio is clear and beautiful. The ringers are loud and you can certainly hear them - no need to use vibrate unless you're at work/school etc. Calls are excellent, but that's also partly Verizon.

Screen Quality: The screen is large enough for anyone to see and you have options for text size. It is clear and crisp. The outside screen is of a slightly lower quality, but unless you're displaying photos on it, it's not going to matter.

Quality of Additional Features: The phone is just that, a phone. Verizon's mobile web works nicely but is not very impressive - I don't use it and cancelled that service. This is a phone, not a camera, but if you're lucky, you might get a nice shot or two for your background. The video records audio nicely if you're close enough, and 15 second is enough for a decent clip.

Design: This phone is sleek and stylish. There was a blue model, but now it's just black with Verizon, and the phone seems to be of high-quality and fairly durable material. The only major design flaw is not having a way to close the lens on the camera, we'll have to see how well that holds up....

if built in photoshop, use imageready to make the animations. Just use your layers from photoshop to create each frame of the animation.

OR

fireworks can do the same thing, if you're using the macromedia tools.

OR

flash or whatever - there's a bunch of choices, and I'm sure someone else can give you a more exhaustive list, but the first two would work wonders for what you've got going on here...

I'd like to get a new 17" MBP and I'm wondering what the verdict is on SSD's... are third-party drives still a better option than the ones that come stock from Apple? If so, which brand/model is best? Also, what's the status with TRIM support and garbage collection in all this? Does Apple's current OS/hardware have either of these yet? If not, will Lion have TRIM support?

That is the correct HTML. Make sure you're saving as plain text. If you happen to be using TextEdit, you can do so from the Format menu.

Ok I will do that (mine was saved as rich text format, so now I changed it .txt). I knew that was the correct tag, but when I open in in the browser, I cannot submit a comment. Any idea why?

We have an Apple Store in Holyoke Mass and there is also an Apple independent Authorized retail store and service center in Northampton called Yes Computers (http://www.yescomputers.com/Yes_Computers/Home.html). It is a great store and I have bought things there over the last few years.

Yesterday I bought a 21.5'' iMac from Mac Line at Woluwe Shopping Center in Bruxelles. They weren't sure if the choice between the magic mouse and the trackpad is applicable outside the apple website, but they gave me the trackpad anyway. I am :)

I agree... as Graphic Design student I want a new MP and ACD to go with it as my MB is doing well running CS3, but not what I need. I am holding off my entire purchase until they introduce an ACD w/ iSight and HDMI.. and NO gloss... Glossy is so unprofessional for color matching and such, thus why I dont see myself purchasing an iMac even though they have good features.

And I'm quite pissed at Apple for using a name for an existing product. It will most definitely cause customer confusion. Both deal with data and manipulation and storage of data and numbers. This is bad news.

If they use the name as the product, I am 100% positive that OmniPilot will have a good case on it's hands.
