Most likely they didn't, and there is no DB breach. Numerous foreign carriers will unlock iPhones they sell to comply with local laws or to please their customers. They are probably going through one or more legit foreign carriers.
Carriers that performs unlocks are not allowed/able to unlock IMEIs that are registered to other carriers. When this services was being offered for only a small number of carriers, yes, it seemed likely that the unlockers had paid off employees within those few carriers. That they are able to offer it for basically all carriers now implies that they have discovered a vulnerability. Could be they are spoofing the certificates of all carriers, resulting in some terminal they have appearing to be signed for that carriers. Could be they have gained access to credentials that give them broader access. It is not just a simple matter of having a compromised employee at a single carrier anymore.

What do you guys think of the new little template I made at the bottom. It's an attempt to let the internet-at-large somehow provide some feedback for the Guides. I realize that the internet-at-large is able to edit the guide directly, but some users may feel daunted by that, when all they really want to do is ask for more information or something.
I'm certain that a random user will need more information that he may not have himself. This simply provides them an easier mechanism to ask.
I'm not a big fan... find it very distracting. Part of it is the look, which is shared by some other templates... feel they are discordant with the rest of the site.
will play around with them when I get a chance. Besides... people can't register and post, they need to register, get 20 posts, then post :) That may be fixed shortly though

Actually I have 3 T-Mobile phones, each has GPS for use in E-911. Its a new federally mandated requirement.
Unless a different e911 came out I don't think that's true. All e911 required is that positioning information was available - it didn't require a specific technology. It differentiates between handset and network technologies but accepts both.
GSM networks do it by cell tower triangulation, a network technology, not GPS, a handset technology.

E-bay it now. I think a lot of people may be updating their harware in the near future with intel based macs so sell now while prices are sky high for the older airport cards.

I don't think you need to restore. I didn't to do that. I upgraded to 4.3.1 and jailbroke my iPod right after the redsn0w update came out.

Thanks. On the subject of editing. I know a track can be muted, but what about a region (section) without having to mute the whole track? Can a region be muted separately?
Yes it can. Click the downward arrow:

Hello... First Post... Its a little long winded but any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I have a dedicated Power Mac G4 2001/2002 (733mhz 1.5GB Ram single processor) linked up to a specialist large format scanner. The G4 operates solely on OS9.2 as the large format scanners software can only work on OS9.2, but this G4 is starting to struggle, possible capacitor issues. I do not have the scanning software discs so am unable to install them onto another computer, and without this software and OS9.2 I would be unable to use my scanner, massive knightmare that I really want to avoid. Ideally I need to try and clone this G4 onto another G4. I have recently obtained a second Power Mac G4 (733mhz 1.5Gb single processor) but it is operating on OSX and does not have OS9 installed on it.
Q: Is it possible to clone my current Power Mac G4 (the OS9.2 operating system & its specialist scanning software) and make an exact clone onto the Power Mac G4 that currently has OSX installed on it?
I have never cloned a computer before, if the above is possible, then I would so greatly appreciate any step by step instructional advice on the above.
Kind Regards,

It would be much easier just to open both PowerMacs, and take the Hard Disk Drive (with OS 9.2 and all your files on it), and install it into the new PowerMac. - All it takes is a screwdriver, and its really easy in those machines :)

This was a product that has been pretty secret - even though there have been rumors about it - for so long and it was such a monumental announcement that the families had to be there.

Where can I buy it at?
You can buy it straight from ATI. That's what I did with mine. I warn you, however, to hold onto your receipt. My X800XT is awesome for games, but it's created a problem in that I can no longer put my computer to sleep.

Late to the party. "Other", as in other things to do before answering yet another loaded hypothetical from 5p, masquerading as a poll.

I reset network settings first. When that didn't work, I hooked it up to the computer and tried a full restore to factory settings. When that didn't work, I tried resetting the network again, so I guess I've done all I can do on my own. I'll look into the cost of repairs. I'm pretty sure I don't have Apple Care so we'll have to see what the best option is. Thanks!

What he's doing is not so bright, but that's what he's specialized in, crack DRMs, and he's old enough to want to make a buck or two, you can't blame him trying. Sure it's not a long term plan but like any full-on criminal, he will try to break into a bank before he get's caught (again) and send to prison - regardless how much people want to rally for him - it's not really legal (sure, flame me if you're a lawyer). Breaking into someone else's house and sell a copy of the key is not exactly bright not matter what you think about the house.
End of story, I hope he'll learn his lesson one day... but I doubt it. good luck but he won't survive the legal system.

Is there an "on sale" section of the app store? Or a badge that notes an app's discounts price? I'm happy when i find an app on sale.

Look what happened to Dell when they focused on volume at the expense of their profit margin.
I can't say Acer will be successful, but they probably can't have too much of a positive long term view with a diminishing profit margin

Yeah, but if I run Darwin on x86 or PPC, it doesn't matter. The OS is handling the memory allocation and such.

Posting here has gotten me 3 times the interest a classified did.
I'm in Santa Cruz but if this's a fulltime gig with bennefits and a decent Salary I'd relocate in a heartbeat.
I'm presently the Mac department for a company here locally but I'm a contracted/Hourly so my loyalty is understandably limited. I've been looking to get full employee status but the mac market's kinda slow around here at the moment so they're dragging their feet.

With all the proper drivers, it will run 3ds max like any other computer with the same specs. There should be no decrease.
Out of curiosity, I once ran 3ds max in a VM on my 2007 iMac and it performed quite well with a scene with over 1 million polygons (DS9 mesh).
