It's as a serious as you want to make it I would guess. I used Pro Tools for years and just never opened Garage Band, when I finally did just to mess around I was surprised to see how much you could do with it, great for chopping and cutting loops I found. The basic layout and samples kind of reminded of me of eJay, but with far more features for doing it yourself, and when you think eJay on its own is already a pretty expensive package...
I wouldn't really recommend trying to set it up to record your full band, and the overall export of a song might be a bit 'Cheap sounding' as a previous poster put it, but for a small program its a great introduction into advanced sound editing and recording.

Good call, chances are it is just bad. If you get another one that doesn't work, could be a bad firmware on the drives that make it incompatible with a Mac. Have you tried plugging it into a Windows PC?

OBLIVION= first choice. That's Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (http://www.elderscrolls.com/games/oblivion_overview.htm) to be exact. Open world RPG, the first solo RPG that was worthy of exploring just for the fun of it. See that mountain way over there? Walk to it and climb. :)

I like the design of these better than the G5, and I don't want to spend several hundred dollars more on something that I don't like as well. I want to get the absolute fastest one they made. Would that be a 20" 1Ghz model? Any known issues on these machines? I will be using it for freelance graphic design work. For the last year and a half, I have used my 12" 800mHz G4 ibook (640mb ram), so I know performance will not be an issue. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

My air is backlit!? Is the new one not??
The origianal MBA (early 2008), the late 2008 MBA, and the mid 2009 MBA all had backlit keyboards.
None of the late 2010 (redesigned) MBA's have it, and it is not an add-on option.

The Airport card is great. The CD-ROM isn't.
Ya, $400-500 seems to be a fair value for the iBook G3 in question.

usb doesn't carry 5.1
If the headset itself only uses usb, that must mean it has a dolby processor that connects to it that utilizes either hdmi or optical to get surround sound. You have to buy a toslink adapter for the optical cable to get it to hook up to the dolby headphones processor. If you'e on a mac pro and its audio card has built in fiber optic port, then use that. Then again if the audio card in the computer already has an optical out, it already probably does dolby headphone.

Question: What's the difference between a tethered & untethered jailbreak? :p I don't know much about it.
Do you know what a tetherball is?
What's the difference between a tetherball and a ball? A cord\cable\string.
Tethered = when you reboot it has to be connected to your PC
Untethered = when you reboot it doesn't have to be.
You should google the question next time, don't be lazy.

Couldn't you just borrow a wired keyboard off a friend or perhaps borrow an old one from your work?
Do you have the Apple Wireless Keyboard or a 3rd party one?

I actually don't think this is true anymore. It was a year or two ago, but Apple is making such unbelievable headway in market share, I truly believe if they were to release a much-improved Pages/Keynote and bundle it with a true spreadsheet App, they would have a very large majority of Apple users signing up willingly.
Apple's marketshare is still too low for that to have any effect on Office sales. What will disrupt Office is the move toward internet based apps. I still believe that Office will dominate for awhile.
However, a down-tick or two of marketshare will have a dramatic effect on the stock price and on computer users perceptions about Microsoft's monopolistic dominance.
The Microsoft dam is starting to leak.

iPad2 and new MBPs in the same quarter... not entirely responsible for the success, but a major reason why.
Well done, Manzana.

Although the power cables are routed through seats and there is a swivel mounting mechanism, their first effort looks more like peanut butter on a poker chip than the marriage of two beautiful things.

and Kobushi, if anyone could animate THAT, I think Lacero could.
He's got the skills that we're all jealous of. I wish I could be as "Lacero" as she.

Well then I would definitely say these 2 I found are both reproductions of some sort since they both have a copyright on them. I kind of figured that was going to be true as it seemed uncharacteristic of apple to mess up a piece of art with a copyright line. So they definitely are not worth the $80 and $60 they are asking for them. Maybe if I can get them down to $10 or something I might buy them. Thanks for your help and input.

Ok guys we're not talking about whether the system would be 2000 bucks (which is insane), but what you think it would be...
I'm thinking somewhre between $400~550 thats the price of my system + price for rendevous support ($100, MAYBE $150...)

Try the reset to factory defaults button.
It's a tiny button on the back of the powerbook where the ports are, it has a small triangle symbol next to it. (You make need a poking device)
I had a 1400cs where the monitor went crazy once. The reset fixed it.
