Only the quad has it from the last few months. Mines working perfectly, I'm not about to pull it apart for pictures.
Does it resemble that of the two big black boxed one? Thats the one I have, but having had this Quad 2.5 years back I never had problems with it. I also read that the Quad's failure rating is around 1 percent compared to the dual 2.5 from 2004 and dual 2.7 from early 2005 - am I correct?

Have you given much thought to creating sub-forums for unannounced products like the iPhone 5 or iPad2? That would keep the long list of nearly identical speculation threads from clogging up the main forums.
That would be nice, but it won't work, since people don't read instructions and continually post in the wrong forums, anyway. We could already fill a forum for speculations on the next MacBook/MacBook Pro/MacBook Air/iMac/Mac Mini/Mac Pro updates.

Oddly, it isn't even in the Finder preferences. Just totally gone! I haven't deleted the Finder plist file though, so I will try that next. Of course, it's a preview so things like this are to be expected ;)
This happened to me on the first developer release on my 2010 6-Core Mac Pro. Oddly AirDrop worked/showed on our 2009 iMac. I filed a bug report and was informed AirDrop is still be worked out on various Broadcom AirPort Extreme WiFi cards. Developer Preview 2 now lists AirDrop on both our Mac's but I only got it working once, now neither system notices the other.
All part of the beta fun (although I wish Apple would release more beta's and not "Developer Previews" as they did with previous OS X releases)

It's an easy way for people to vent and I suppose that is a tangible benefit. It would be a mistake to use it as a means for deciding which article to read.

I'm coming here after work (work downtown until 5) so hopefully they'll still have some by the time I get here. My wife and I are trying to get each other one for our anniversary.

I have 4 SSD's.
A 256 GB OWC, in a 2007 BMB.A 64GB OWC in a 2008 BMB, both are mission critical, and I run my business with them.
I also have 2- 1.6 GHZ 4/64 11" refurb MBA's, that I am in the process of installing 360GB OWC Aura's in each.(one more to buy)
All OWC SSD's have performed as advertised, and have been problem free.
I have spoken with Hellhammer, and he has advised against the hack to enable TRIM on each, I
believe Apple supports garbage collection, on their own drives, but not others, but Lion will
support Trim, so I am waiting for Lion before I activate the MBA's
I have been very happy with all RAM, and SSD's purchased from OWC.
I was under the impression that garbage collection functions within the SSD itself, independently from the OS... whereas TRIM relies on OS support. Am I wrong about that?
Also really interested to hear how speed/performance of the current stock MBP SSD's compare to the 3rd-party alternatives out there.

I would say it's gonna b worth a nice pile anytime u wanna get rid of it. Around 500 would be a good price to grab it now. It's gonna be an iconic image.

Actually just read another post about 64-bit and 32-bit kernel and wondering if that is the root cause of my issue?
I will try the 32-bit when I get home later.
Incidentally, will I notice much difference between 64-bit and 32-bit?
Will update later :o)
Lol, welcome back. The only benefit to 64-bit is the ability to utilize ridiculous amounts of RAM. There are a couple minor processor benefits as well, but nothing worth noting for the the majority of purposes. HERE (http://lifehacker.com/5431284/the-lifehacker-guide-to-64+bit-vs-32+bit-operating-systems)is a good guide to the differences.

Yeah, Steve did only say 802.11 which strikes me as odd, but why would they use n in the set top box, when all of the current Macs have g? I don't see Apple telling everyone who just bought a new Mac "too bad"
Unless recent Macs have 802.11n which just needs a firmware update to unlock it.

I think you should try opening it and saving it with a different image editor. See if that works. Just a suggestion.

I wasn't talking about the iGadgets, because they are actually competitively priced.
I'm talking about the Mac line.
The numbers make it clear that consumers are willing to buy the Mac line at their current prices.

I never really understood resolution independence. Can someone explain it in layman's terms?
Visible objects stay the same size (in cm/inches) even though the display hardware would be better-than-in-the-90's -- this shouldn't be very hard to understand. Until now, object size has been measured in pixels, but Apple wants to give people the luxury of measuring objects in cm/inches just the same way we do in real life. If you buy a HD display, the apple in the apple menu stays the same size, it only looks sharper.
And the same goes to all UI objects, naturally.

That is the correct HTML. Make sure you're saving as plain text. If you happen to be using TextEdit, you can do so from the Format menu.

You could use a Cydia app called "Lockdown". Let's you set either a simple or full password to access any apps of your choice, including the 'phone'.
