well i figured that the chances of someone using a 10 year old camera on a 2 week old computer were not high. The funny thing is i got more help at FredMiranda than I did posting on the apple discussion Aperture forums.
Hopefully Apple will let me know what is up today or tomorrow.

When an app is rejected by Apple's App Store review process, do they tell you all the issues that's wrong with the app? Or do they stop after finding the first issue that's wrong?
My experience has always been that they stop at the first issue. Then there can be a whole series of fixes, submissions, reviews, and rejections. Each iteration brings you closer to approval but never with any feel for how close you might be. But your mileage may vary.

One of the other rumor sites (AppleInsider I think) is speculating that there is a secret announcement to be made today by Steve at the Final Cut Pro meeting.
Sounds like wishful thinking to me :(

Well, the 1.5GHz G4 is out. Yes, it's overclocked, but it appears to be fairly stable. Following the overclockability-to-future-product releases-scale (which has now proved true the last several product announcements), we could easily see 1.5GHz G4s in the next revision.

yeah, i totally understand what you're saying. android definitely does a lot more straight out of the box than the iphone does. but i guess for me, if i had an android device i'd really like to be able to flash some really cool builds and kernels a lot of the guys at xda-dev release (like we all used to do on the old winmo days) that way i don't have to worry when the manufacturer quits releasing updates after ~6 months and i get stuck on an old os. i just hate the fact those manufacturers are trying to prevent that type of community from doing their thing.
Well that's kinda hypocritical posting in an Apple forum. Apple tries 100x harder to prevent users from jailbreaking than Android\Manufacturers do try to prevent rooting\modding.
Either way, I like current technology, so I don't worry about updates after 6 months. I replace my computers every 6 months, and my phones as well. This was one of the reasons I defected from Apple's phones, got tired of waiting for a one-a-year product cycle for a phone that wasn't even the latest and greatest technology.

Anyone who for some reason doesn't understand resolution independence just needs to know one thing: there isn't a downside. Don't worry about it. A lot of computer games are resolution independent these days (including the UI) and nobody freaks out about that, eh?

I would imagine that the internet will present it's share of problems. Having the OS scale won't solve the problem of everything on the internet being 72 dpi. Yes, we can scale the text, but I'd imagine it will still be a huge mess once they start cranking up DPIs on the monitors.

I don't know if anyone has heard of this hosting service, Bluehost.
They are offering 4gigs of storage and 100gb of bandwidth for only $6.95/month.

Keep in mind that T-Mobile also operates Wi-Fi hotspots and probably will get into get into the wireless internet biz soon. Talking with Apple doesn't necessarily mean they are talking phones. It could be some other marketing or technical arrangement about some other product or Leopard feature.
There has also been a long standing rumor that the Blackberry Pearl (sold by TMobile) will be iTunes enabled soon.
Also don't expect Apple to allow an iPhone to be crippled. In fact, I expect Apple to sell the iPhone itself and use excess bandwidth from the various cell phone companies. Something along the lines of Virgin Mobile. Probably pay-as-you-go as well, just like iTunes.

According to Michael Moore, in a recent interview with GritTV (http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2011/03/02/moore_on_wealthy_peoples_money_thats_not_theirs_thats_a_national_resource_its_ours.html), any wealth a rich person has earned is not actually theirs, it's a national resource, it's mine, it's yours, it's our wealth. Based on recent conversations with several of you and many on the left calling for DRASTICALLY higher taxation rates on the wealthiest Americans, I find myself wondering how popular this idea really is. Certainly there is much precedent for this line of thought... Mao, Stalin, Marx, Che, etc. all would have agreed... but where do you sit? Do you make claim to the funds earned by a wealthy entrepreneur? Are these funds up for the taking by popular opinion and political recourse (if we convince enough congressmen, should it be ours for the taking)?
Everything of values generated and accumulated within the boundaries of a state (by which I mean nation-state, btw), belongs to that state. I don't mind the state handing out money by keeping the tax rates low, but giving rich people tax relief is like spending billions of dollars on those who already have far more than they need for many lifetimes.

Hi all. I am looking for newspaper templates for my students (6/7th graders) to create newspaper about historical events. Old looking ones would be nice. Just can't find any good ones...
Thanks much!

Do me a favor. If you don't already have it turned on, turn on Dock magnification and move your mouse pointer slowly across the icons. See how they scale smoothly, and yet don't look like crap? Those icons are 256x256 bitmaps. Its all about doing things properly.
Thank you. Sometimes you explain things until you are blue in the face but people still don't get it until they see an example.
Even people that know the difference between vector and bitmapped graphics have the misconception that screen resolution indepenence depends on vector images. I don't think they are aware of where the GPU technology has gone in the last few years.
It won't be long and we will be rendering all graphic displays lke 3D game engines with virtual worlds and holographic displays.

i can't speak to the whole issue of whether the AC charges it faster or not. i would guess not, as it's probably designed to charge at a spec that both the firewire and the adaptor must meet. as for the charging while asleep, if the iPod says charging, it is charging. do you have it plugged in when it does this (the laptop, that is)?
