Hi. I need some help with a malfunctioning color stylewriter 2500. Whenever I try to make a test page, it just passes through the printer without printing anything. I've already replaced the ink cartridges. Any ideas?
Has this problem just occurred or did you dis-assemble the beast and this problem began after re-assembly?
There are cams that need to be aligned together on the rear paper feed tray for things to happen correctly.
You might also want to pay attention to the paper feed sensor which might be telling the machine that paper is "permanently" loaded. The logic here is that the printer is trying to eject the paper it "sees" when turned on before loading a new sheet to perform a self test, but because the paper feed sensor is jammed it's as if the paper never leaves the printer.
Does that make sense?
EDIT: I should ask, does it sound like it's printing? IE, does the printe head carriage move left to right or does it just feed the paper only?

Hmm... that page is so huge it could almost be it's own category let alone a page. I can seem to add text to that page with no fuss. There might be a cap, but it doesn't appear to be reached yet. You can add a "See Also" section at the end of the page and just link between guides. Just put a * for the bullet point and [[ ]] for the guide you want to link to. E.g. *[[MacBook]].
Also, you might want to make the article more formal, as in it's current state it's more of a giant forum post than a guide. Finally, you have a lot of references to your name and what you own etc. in the article. Now while I think MR should be slapped on the wrist for not really recognising the hard work of some of the editors (like yourself), this doesn't really add anything useful to the article.

This is great. Looks like you put a lot of work into it.
Maybe a couple of 'pro' apps could be used?
Yeah, my only regret is that, at the time of shooting, FCE didn't want to work (I think I need to reinstall) so I was left with Aperture. :o

Thanks, Dante. Your patient elucidation is much appreciated. I use my desktop for music production, and my laptop for everything else, including photoshop stuff for CD covers, etc.; the next step is consolidation into a single machine (now that I've sold off a ton of synth hardware and am more in-the-box). The color accuracy is obviously not the be-all and end-all for my applications, but I wouldn't want to save a couple of bucks and end up with something I couldn't use in everything I do.
I saw the HP in person today for the first time, and it does look great. As for the form factor element of the equation, I like the fact that it can be lowered on its stand to where the screen is almost sitting on the tabletop, and the screen can be turned L-R without moving the stand. I have a nice couch off to the side of my rig, where I'd like to be able to turn a 30" monitor for an occasional evening's DVD-viewing with friends, and hadn't yet figured out how this would "go" with an ACD (this studio arrangement is new; previously my couch was behind the main seating position at the rig).
Most of the above is doubtless more than you need or care to know, but let me finish my blathering by thanking you again. Best,
vic
I hear yah, and I do care: selecting a monitor always gives me fits!!
It is always good to get feedback. Yes, that HP is sweet in every respect and adjustability is a strong point. I love that factor. The ACD is weak in that area.
You'll be fine for CD covers: I have done a few of them for clients -- the HP would be good for them especially given their small form factor (that is, it is not like you are going huge pages with giant blocks of color).
Good luck with whatever you go with.

So in theory Apple wont release Bluray until they release compatible displays. We could be waiting a long time before we see Bluray as an option then on Macs!
Sometime this year... Montevina MBP with Blu Ray burner, HDCP ACDs with HDMI and Blu Ray drive option on Mac Pro, then. :D

It's a cordless or wireless lapel mic. It shouldn't be hard to find one. Just do a searh on the internet. The link below is to an eBay store. The part hanging on your back is the mic transmitter. You will need a receiver as well to connect to an amplifier and speakers make a complete system.

If you are watching LiveTV over VPN DO NOT INSTALL THE Optimum LiveTV app update. I installed it and it breaks watching LiveTV over VPN. Luckily I had the app backed up and reinstalled the older version back on my iPad.

CD-RW, not CD-RX. I'm sorry:o It says "Burning the disk failed because this type of CD is not supported. Error: 0x80020043. What am I doing?
Oh, okay, no problem. :)
Has it been written to already by another computer, or is this the first time? If so, you may need to use Disk Utility (in the Utilities folder) to erase the disc first.
Otherwise, it could just be a weird difference between your drive and that disc brand...and you might need to try a different brand. That's a strange thing, but I've heard of it happening once in a rare while.... :(
EDIT: There's also the possibility mentioned above by CanadaRAM, but as far as Apple History says, the iMac went straight from CD to CD-RW....

I have a iMac and use mobile me for my email. I am wondering if archiving my email will speed things up in the mail section or the mac overall. I have a ton of email that I keep in folders that are years old. I keep them for serial numbers for software I bought and so on. Then there are attachments to some emails such as family emails. I have about 10 GB in my mail folder under my library section under my user name. Should I consider archiving my email and how does that affect the email searching , say if I wanted to look up a email for a serial number? What are the steps on how to do it? Is there a article or can someone tell me how to do it?

It's down at the bottom of the page:

I used to have the same problem until I noticed the tiny type.
Unfortunately, there's no link to get back to the DailyTunes home page when you've crawled into the forums.

I had the same problem with my brand new MacBook Pro(2011). I took it to the Genius Bar along with my Numa Nano. After trying it on a number of different MacBooks, we found that the problem was on all the new MacBooks(2011). The laptops from 2010 saw it fine. So Apple did something different. The Apple genius sent corporate support a note on it. I hope it is just an OS update fix. If you plug in everything and reboot your computer, it should seen it.

At first you won't need more than 1 terabyte. Honestly...also, TWO cores is enough to do heavy photo editing AND listen to music while you're doing it.
Also, keep in mind that harddrives last 5-6 years....CD's and DVD's can last decades. Back up important data to CD's and DVD's and keep them safe...
If you ever go into photography as a pro, and somebody wants a copy of their wedding photos it would be nice if you're able to provide it 20 years after the occasion. Photo prints don't last hundreds of years, eventually the prints may need to be reprinted :)
Keep these things in mind.
Thanks for reiterating the value of media and I will :)
The 27" iMac all in one is a nice system, but I desire expansion. Also, I want to perform all the work on my computer. I am sure a two core would suffice, but I am honed in on a Mac Pro, as it is my only solution.
