I played with this idea a year or two ago when an application came out that allowed you to add a peice of text as a contact. Plain text was easy just split it up and feed it in. But unfortunately in my original Ipod if you have any more than a page or two of text in a contact it scrolls really slowly... Slower than I can read. I then looked in to the documentation of formating text on a ipod with perhaps writing a converter from rtf as I had dozen or so ebooks in the format, Uggh!. In the end I decided haveing a ebook as 200 contacts and with a lot of work to get it formated on a tiny screen was way to hard and Took a laptop on holiday instead:)
Still have a couple of ebooks on my ipod and I still havent read 1 of them.

One of the things that irritates me about iTMS is the fact that I can't play my purchased tracks on anything other than an iPod.
You can, with limitations. If you burn to CD, then rip to a lossless format, you can put an exact copy on anything. Right now the resulting larger files really do present a problem when moving to other players (unless you're willing to accept recompression losses), but time will erase this as storage density goes up and prices drop.
For example, the current high-end iPod can already hold more uncompressed audio than the original could hold in the iTMS compressed form, yet the newer model costs a little less.

I agree with you.
Whatever Apple's introduce will be clever and easy to use. Remember that's their core philosophy, That's why I am not worrying too much.
I am skeptical of this patent. I believe Apple did patent the above, but they do that all the time to protect their ideas. That doesn't mean it's going to be the final product like that.
The only thing I can certain say is that the video iPod will be here soon. I hope before xmas. If not then at MWSF.
If its not announced by the week before thanksgiving we won't see it until at least MWSF.

I've tried JetPhoto and it's a dream!
It's has a really nice client on the Mac that integrates with iPhoto and, once set up, gives one click uploading via FTP. The server is a simple PHP script.
It offers some very nice goodies like a flash gallery, a choice of themes and GPS technology integration.
Oh ... and it's free.

This looks nothing short of ridiculously brilliant, and seems to be exactly what I'm after. Can't try it until this evening, but I think you've just solved my problem.
Many thanks. :)

Just in my opinion it could be better if you add images of a person/kid/personnel + computer. Straight to the point, easily understand, coz you put the most important catchy part of the site, which is the apple products in the middle which is totally not related to the services that you offer, and even if you do, it still look better with understandable image that is related to your service.

Screw Dvd Jon. He's a moron. iTunes is popular because it's a simplistic kick ass store. It's easy to use, and well organized. It has a great selection for a price cheaper than most CDs.

Marketplace is only open to people with 6 months and 250 posts. There isn't a place for new members to trade here. I suggest craigslist.

In geography, actually. Which, just to sound weird, was where I was during the July 7th London attacks. And the failed London ones (can't remember the date)
But don't fear! I've dropped it this year, so the attacks should clear up...

If your willing to spend a little extra, I'd check out the HP ZR22. It's a little bit smaller but you get what you pay for. IPS, Full HD, All the ports you need.

I'm sitting here in my office - in front of my crappy Windoze computer - and I just don't feel like working! I'm bored! I need to find some fun things online to read.Wouldn't it be funny if you accidentally posted this on your company's intranet server? Another tortured Tuesday. What do you do?

Your Lucky sides will have to be taken off because the added width, it won't even fit and close with the case on. Depending on your combo of front and back shields will determine if it's a fit. As for your combo, it should fit in but will be a little snug. The built-in shield from the Defender will raise slightly above the iPhone screen because of the snug fit with the front shield on. You will notice a slight lack of sensitivity because the built-in screen protector is not directly touching the glass but instead, due to the tight fit with the front shield, there is a slight gap between the built-in shield and your PS shield.
Peace

Using GSP and Iphoto only makes sense if the photo's have the GSP location information as part of the photo. So that mean that the Camera taking the picture has a GSP reciever in it, which is great outside, but GPS does not work indoors
1. The GPS receiver could cache the last known (outdoor) position and use that in the meta tags for the photo.
2. Folks are working on getting GPS to work indoors on a small chip: see <http://www.gpsworld.com/gpsworld/article/articleDetail.jsp?id=3053> especially this paragraph:
In the Taylor system, the GPS receiver is relieved of the burden of searching out the satellite frequencies, demodulating satellite navigation data, and computing satellite coordinates, because this information is provided over a separate wireless link. Of course, in the cell phone environment, a separate wireless link is readily available. Over the last few years, cellular handset makers such as Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia, and Qualcomm cooperated in the adoption of standard formats for A-GPS information interchange. We now have A-GPS standards for GSM, CDMA, and US-TDMA wireless technologies.

I may be wrong, but doesn't iTunes convert WMA songs automatically? I'm working on switching over a friend and got him to use iTunes as a start and I think he said when he imported his WMA's it converted them...
Your right iTunes does convert unprotected WMA's. At least that's what it says here. (http://www.apple.com/itunes/import.html)
Edit: I just realized this is an old thread. iTunes probably didn't have that feature at the time. I need to start paying attention

I know it sounds nuts, but I'm going to the Best Buy in Grapevine. The Apple rep there has assured me that they'll have copies at 6PM. The more Mac products we buy from Best Buy, (hopefully) the more they'll support the platform.

Arrgh, Dj Vu! Theere wasn't an official Roman standard for the numbers, and some of the "Roman" numbers we use today are more recent inventions. Rerun (http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=993272&postcount=11).
