Hello,
I need a replacement power supply for my Mac G4 Quicksilver (part 614-0157) but all the prices I've seen are outrageous. I am in the process of converting an ATX power supply for use in the Mac but I discovered that I do not have a +25V line. Is there an adapter or alternative power supply that will give me 25V?
These are the specifications on the Mac PSU:
+250VS 4.5A
+250VL 2.5A
I appreciate any help that could help me bring my Mac back to life. It is currently a stylish paperweight.

Looks like having a Google exec on the board is paying off. Googlemapping your photos is a fun diversion and makes for some great mash-ups. The handheld device sounds promising as well.

May I ask what you expect on an Apple-based rumor site such as MacRumors? Speculation is the foundation for any site based on rumors, so speculation on the part of its readers is frowned upon? I don't see the logic in that.
Speculation is fine. It's the people saying, "teh UI gonna sux. im not buy 1," and whatever else. I should've suggested not jumping to conclusions. Of course I have reservations about the possible product... but I'm not willing to just jump off the wagon and say, "I'm not buying one."

I am having trouble with a nested table with the height set to 100% in ie, the page renders fine in safari, firefox, opera..... but not ie! i have a container table set to a height of 100% (works fine), but then the nested table (in ie) will only scale to the height of the content - not 100% of the available space?
it wouldnt bother me so much, but i have a vertical navigation bar in this nested table, which in ie, moves "up and down" when navigating to different pages....
does anyone know a fix for ie?
heres my CSS:

padding: 0;
color: #000000;
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 14px;

Talked to security yesterday. They said we aren't allowed to form a line until 10pm. Though they said 4:00 for the iPhone launch and they started walking us in at 1:00.

You can only use 2.5" S-ATA HDDs, the biggest is currently a 1TB or 1.5TB one. 2TB HDDs are usually desktop HDDs and are 3.5" in size.

But what do the Chinese characters mean?
They're shorthand for the website where they downloaded the colour bars for the LCD screen test.

I don't see this as having anything directly to do with Microsoft's support of Mac products overall. The writing was on the wall for VPC the moment Apple announced the move to Intel; the only question is why it took so long. (But since when does anything at Microsoft happen quickly?) The interesting part of Microsoft's announcement was the timing. Apple and Microsoft seem to have taken to poking each other in the eye. More than a little spite in the timing, to be sure.

I was at home, in bed (had the stomach flu). Found out when my dad called (he had initially freaked out because he had called me at work and I wasn't there, and he was trying to figure out where I was because they were evacuating buidlings in Chicago (I used to work and go to college near the Sears Tower). Needless to say, he was relieved that I was already at home. I was so ill, though, that I didn't quite understand what he was saying - finally, he told me to just turn on the TV). I watched the television coverage for a while, but it certainly didn't help my already upset stomach, so I was actually glad when my Aunt called and asked if I could pick her up at the train station (her workplace decided to let everyone go home early).

He's talking about the OpenGL update that allows one processor to deal with OpenGL instructions whilst the other does, um, other stuff. It supposedly gives OpenGL performance as much as a 2x boost in speed.
I'm guessing it only works with Mac with multiple processing cores.
It's rather pointless without multiple processors/cores, so I'd say that's a safe assumption.

So with WMP gone and now VPC gone, the only MAJOR software developed for Macs by Microsoft is Office?
Let's just hope they don't decide to kill office. Sure, I know there are lots of alternatives out there, but you try telling that to Mr. idiot joe-average boss.
Edit: Looks like I spoke too soon, fortunately:
http://www.macnn.com/articles/06/08/07/universal.office.coming/
Microsoft is not developing Visual Basic in the Univeral Mac Office suite, so some people are already claiming that cross-compatibility is officially dead. Unless someone comes up with a Rosetta-like translator between VB and AppleScript/Automator, I don't see how script-filled Office files will be able to leave a Mac-only or Windows-only environment.

How did you do that?
How did you change your dock into that?
Also, how did you get the analogue clock?
you must delete the dock using Mirage (http://www.dockulicious.com/docks/view/mirage)
then i used a blank geektool (http://projects.tynsoe.org/en/geektool/) script to make the background for the dock.
and the clock is a piece of software called SimpleFloatingClock (http://download.cnet.com/Simple-Floating-Clock/3000-2094_4-173851.html)

I figured out a few things:
The older APC 1500 is using a stepped sine wave approximation, basically a square wave. Some say despite this frying sound coming from the PSU, the stepped "sine wave" is actually more efficient when transforming AC to the different DC voltages.:rolleyes: It's still not a sound I like coming from any device, especially my file and backup server. Since I have CCTV connected to the server, I want it to be on as long as possible, not just so I can have the time to shut it down properly...
Apparently, NEVER connect a modern plasma or lcd TV or any solid state power supply to a square wave approx. output.
No one has had this issue?
