Hi. I need some help with a malfunctioning color stylewriter 2500. Whenever I try to make a test page, it just passes through the printer without printing anything. I've already replaced the ink cartridges. Any ideas?
Has this problem just occurred or did you dis-assemble the beast and this problem began after re-assembly?
There are cams that need to be aligned together on the rear paper feed tray for things to happen correctly.
You might also want to pay attention to the paper feed sensor which might be telling the machine that paper is "permanently" loaded. The logic here is that the printer is trying to eject the paper it "sees" when turned on before loading a new sheet to perform a self test, but because the paper feed sensor is jammed it's as if the paper never leaves the printer.
Does that make sense?
EDIT: I should ask, does it sound like it's printing? IE, does the printe head carriage move left to right or does it just feed the paper only?

Well it is time for me to upgrade my current system to better work with leopard.
I'm looking to buy a Powerbook g4 Aluminum with the following minimum specs:
1.5ghz g4
512mb ram
80gb hard drive
superdrive
15"
Screen must have no imperfections and I would prefer a machine with no dents.
I would also prefer a working battery and the original box, but we'll see what I get offered.
In addition to the powerbook I would like to purchase an IBM thinkpad for work. Minimum specs below:
IBM T40,41,42, or 43
256mb ram
40gb hard drive
DVD-ROM
No dead pixels/dents
Working battery
If you have another brand of PC that is not IBM contact me anyway and I'll see if that particular model would work for me.
Let me know what you have to offer, either in a PM or posting a reply to this thread. Thanks!

Well there is a video in the other Leopard screenshot thread that shows finder but it has a unified skin. But we are pretty sure its from Leopard cause it shows an integrated feature that is obviously new. It should still be on like page 5...
But yea, so these features are great, resolution independence is awesome as usual and these little minor things add up. MWSF is going to be awesome.

How about we reserve our comments on usability, interface and one-handed-ness until we see a demo... or a freaking production model for that matter.
sheesh. You all talk like you've used it.

P.S. SiliconAddict: the above comments are not made solely at you.
Right. Someone finds a patent filing, which only has to describe the patent with sufficient detail to gain acceptance, and many folk are conjecturing the final product. For general discussion that is great, and a reason to interact on forums like this one. However, I cringe when I read people's visceral response to something that does not even exist yet.

I'm not surprised to be honest. A friend of mine has one of the older Zune devices and while the interface for the device itself looks half decent it can be difficult to navigate and the software itself is bloated and slow.

There's a conversion tool at this site called WMA to MP3 converter which will do the task, but I believe that WinAMP can do this as well, along with WMP9 itselt, I think.

You could simply open yourself an iTunes UK account for free.
Use a random UK address, such as a UK Apple Store (http://www.apple.com/uk/retail/storelist/).

The small adapter is required to power the drive. miniSAS is data only, so you still need power.
The miniSAS cable connects the controller with the hard drives.
I see, thanks. So I take it without these adapters I can't use any 3rd party RAID solution for HDD's in the four internal bays as by default the hard drives in those bays just connect to the internal PCB channels and SATA power which are both located on the backplane? but with the adapter (for power only) it creates some space causing the HDD to be not plugged into the DATA PCB channels, thus allowing to connect the SAS cables from the controller into the hard drive sata ports.

IAnyway, my point is to do not underestimate Zune. It's a very good software, modern. It's just that Microsoft is ..well..not very good with marketing I guess..
They seem to have done well with the XBox...

You've got my vote!
Your proposed graphic is definitely my favorite avatar I've seen on the entire Forum! (Uh-oh, mistake: I've just insulted all the judges ) Would make me laugh aloud & feel good every time I'd see it, I'm sure . . . Hope you get to keep it . . . I just wish I'd thought of it first . . .
Wasn't there a State that was giving away a Mozart CD to every newborn (to make them smarter?) a while ago? I wish it was a copy of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" DVD set instead!

I like the new design although:
I'm losing some screen real estate on my 12" PB. The first quarter of the screen is just the top ad, the logo, and the search field.
It should be possible to make that more compact.
If this is my own private HTML rendering problem, I'll gladly provide a screen shot.
Go out and party!

I am expecting similar prices to what we see now. The Yonah is probably more expensive to buy, but the other parts like the motherboard should be cheaper.
Also considering the size of the new Intel Powerbooks (basically the same size as the PowerBook G4, except a bit thinner) I am expecting them to use the ATI X1600M (it's about the speed of a G6800go) because it is quite a fast laptop chip and it is meant to be low power.

Why is that? I'm just curious.
Misrepresentation of true color. Glossy gives the effect of higher saturation and contrast. That's why it looks "prettier" to people.

Microsoft has to worry about bigger things than getting their OS to run on macs, how about getting their OS to run on a PC (IE: Vista).
Microsoft was late to the plate and I wouldn't be suprised if they just bought out a company to get back in the competition.

Yep, but is it ethical to tax him at 90?
Why would it not be? If you apply a 90% rate evenly to the top percentile, seems to me it would be quite fair. It would help fund the government assistance programs that will make it easier for him to survive on a paltry $500 million.

Hello,
on an art-television-channel I saw an article about a Finnish Science Fiction movie comedy.
the plot: 1945, the nazis send a rocket to the moon. On the dark side of the moon they built a colony and come back 2018 to capture the world.
Sounds like a b-movie/trash-movie, but I think it could be fun (and I like hilarious trash movies some time).
unfortunately the teaser does not rise a lot interest (my opinion), but there is a good critique article, unfortunately it is in german. Maybe you can find an article in finnish or english via google somewhere.
http://www.3sat.de/page/?source=/kulturzeit/tips/151764/index.html
teaser: http://www.ironsky.net/
better teaser (English with german subtitle): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRZu-_0EHGI
It has an interesting financial aspect. One can lend his/her money and if the movie makes profit, you get your money back with a plus. (Very unsecure, but one fan said, he had a better feeling losing all his money on a film, instead of investing in a firm, that will close in the cause of the financial crisis. An idealistic approach for people loving strange things of movie art ;)
They have earned a third of the actual production costs it says in the article, till now. Movie will start in europe in 2012.
thanks for posting. actually looks interesting.
but they've got it wrong, if the nazis had gone to the moon, they wouldn't have come back to Earth, they would have made a massively strategic error and went after Mars instead first :) lol
(blatant poke at Hitler's fantastic war strategy :)
honestly though, I like the cinematic look of this flick. I'd like to watch it.
