I'm not sure where you get the idea that Iran is "one of the most backward countries in the world", because in many ways it is not. The pronouncement that sex-changes were OK came from none other than Ayatollah Khomeini himself, several decades ago.
Homosexuality, of course, is another matter, but that's all right because they apparently "don't have homosexuals in Iran". Probably because they get executed.

Yep. I got that; I was saying that the reason you don't see it is not because they've hidden it; it's because XP is actually a lot more stable. Crashes these days are pretty rare, and are usually caused by attempts to access strange areas of memory, or driver problems. I have an XP box running a couple of web containers, and a few app servers; aside from a driver hiccup, never had a crash or secret reboot (and I would know, because I would still need to log back in when I got back from the water cooler).

As for the time it took Apple to create a stable version I disagree...the first desktop version that was available came out in March 2001. I would say that Jaguar was the first completely stable version, which came out in August 2002. Even if you disagree my PowerBook has been completely stable since I got it (it shipped with 10.2.7) in September 2003. Just over two years. My XP boxes have been far less stable.
Also, Apple charges because they offer new things to the operating system, not just stability fixes. OS X updates are also cheaper.

It's definitely not perspective. You can see the metal piece is raised higher because the white sections are thicker than the black sections. A 2 year old could figure this out.

Its interesting to see Microsoft's strategy on this - I think its only a good thing that somebody is trying to look at the whole player/content ecosystem in the same way that Apple have...that competition can only be a good thing surely?
However...some of the comments do seem to suggest they already expect to be losing the battle though - surely if you really thought you could compete with iPod/iTunes you would be a little bolder? Makes it sound half-hearted, and thats a shame.

Obviously, if they are saying you are not allow, that means they can not stop you from doing so. It's a simple warning beacuse if you call them up about a problem in VM mode they will simply tell you it is not support and you will have to pay another $200 to get any support.
Remember once someone sells you something they can not tell you how you can use it. That like you buying a car and in the purchase agreement they tell you your not allow to wreck the car. Grant it, they do not have to warranty it after you wreck it, but if you want to wreck it, that is up to you.

I'll be happy to wait until Aug/Sep for the iPhone 5, my 3GS is struggling these days (I've been eligible for a upgrade for three months now) but I'm willing to wait longer.
I'm actually glad that Apple are holding back on the release to give them more development/testing time, I'm sure that Apple will ensure that no "antennagate" incident will happen again.

It is literally impossible to get rid of guns here. The only thing gun-control does is take away guns from those who legitimately and responsibly own them. You think the guns that gangsters and criminals have are registered? I think not.

The fact is, we've been through this before. The iPhone 1 was going to be a huge failure because it didn't have 3G. They were concerned about coverage and battery life. It's the same issue now.
People are saying apple should make those sacrifices now to keep up with technology. But nobody is addressing the fact that apple has historical evidence that this is a sound approach.

Comparing him to the President shows just how twisted our population's understanding of Al-Qaeda's current make up has become. He was a leader a decade ago.
The current iteration of "Al-Qaeda" has only the idea driving it in common with the hierarchical Al-Qaeda of a decade ago.Bin Laden was the figurehead of the organization. Him dead is still a blow to Al-Qaeda. Was he in charge anymore probably not but it is still a big deal that he is dead.

I think he means the Galapagos Islands were discovered by Charles Darwin (they weren't). The stuffed dog Bagel probably refers to the ship the HMS Beagle Charles Darwin sailed on when he went to the Galapagos Islands.

Trackpads and touch screens are quite different input devices. Touch screen input requires that you actually "touch" what you want to manipulate. With a trackpad, you don't have quite the precision to precisely put your finger on an object on screen, since the object is not displayed on the track pad.
It just doesn't translate that well. Trackpads still very much require cursors, which iOS's UI lacks.

I want to see pro keyboard / mice combos (in silver / aluminium) - back light keyboard, thinner - matches the pro laptops and desktops. And then black / white versions for the consumer range. It would look professional to have a cinema display with my macbook pro and have a bluetooth keyboard & mighty mouse set that for once matched the design in terms of colour at least.
