Anyone planning on going to the Apple Store tonight? Anyone know if there is a line yet?
I'm Thinking about it, but more so tomorrow in the AM, I live in Brigham so its not to far and i at least want to Stand in Line "SIT" one time in my life, But at 47 years old and being partially disabled, overnight might be a bit to much.:)
But for sure in the Morning, So maybe we can meet up.:apple:

Microsoft has announced that it has halted development on a universal version of VirtualPC.
Digg This (http://digg.com/apple/Microsoft_Officially_Kills_Virtual_PC)
I used to use VirtualPC mainly to take screenshots for various Flash tutorials and demos that I created. Then one day I was in a rush and I took all of my screenshots using Safari and boy did people notice. The couldn't believe how much clearer the screens were and then one of my friends came forwarded and pointed out that most screenshots we see are taken from Macs in the first place.
I soon stopped relying on VPC more and more. My IT department upgraded our e-mail servers so that I use either Mail or Entourage to see my e-mail and slowly I stopped using it completely.
Back when the G5's came out, I could upgrade my machine because there was no support for VPC on a G5 (that changed eventually), but the thought of not being able to run VPC on Mac Pro has never crossed my mind.
The need for VPC in the Mac/Intel age is gone and Microsoft is wise to move on.
Perhaps they're doing this because they can now eaisly create and port native Mac OS apps.
Whatever

Evidently those that just pick up the iPad and just start playing haven't played far enough. That works but for real newbies there is hope.
Once you get yours launch Safari. In the bookmarks drop down you will find the iPad manual. Every individual item, program, setting or what ever is expalined. At least it is in my iPad1, can't imagine they would take it out. You will of course have to be connected to the internet.
Enjoy your iPad, you will never let yourself be without it.

Seems 9.5mm is still the maximum height: http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/mac-mini/
yes, as someone who has done about two dozen hard drive upgrades on the newest gen mac mini's 9.5 mm is the spec.
750GB is the highest you will be able to go. A 750GB 7200RPM drive should set you back $100 - $110

The photos will be different, but the shutter sound, sounds the same. It seems like it takes the same amount of time to take each photo.
I suspect that a lot of the sound is due to moving the mirror up and down. The D3100 can only take images at 3fps. It is only when you get into shutter times of more than 3/10 sec that the time to take the image is longer than the 'mechanics' of the camera taking the picture. Or look at it another way if you take picutres at 1/1000 and 1/10 the camera still can only take three per second.
All the best

And jailbreaking via greenpois0n (which as far as I knew wasn't updated for iOS 4.3.1 yet, although Pwnage and redsn0w are) has what to do with an unlock for the current iPhone baseband?
It is really simple...it doesn't cost $170 and does not involve quite as risky behavior.

Any suggestions or recommendations?
I use the Windows Home Server provided backup agent (set and forget) to back up my W7 installs to the NAS. Acronis True Image Home 2010 is what I use for imaging and disaster recovery.
If you are on W7, the built in backup and imaging tools are supposed to be pretty decent, for once.

If the battery is accepting a charge, it would generate heat as well as the charger. If it does not, then it migh be your DC-in board.

Sorry, but you are quite mistaken. It is clearly a conspiracy!

New here, and planning to purchase a new mac mini for next school year. Here are some question, hope someone can help me out. I had already read some of this, but still want to make sure.
I would use for school work, some graphic designing, music composing, and of course a bit gaming.
2.4GHz or 2.66GHz ? Would it be different of the performance?
Would like to upgrade ram, a little question that on the apple website is "8GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM (add $300...)", and I saw someone said this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231294
would be work fine, is it?
I had already got a bluetooth keyboard with said work with windows, mac, android etc. could it be work? and might also a bluetooth mouse I use with windows right now.. I know it kind of dum question, but just want to make sure and save some money.
About the applecare, should i buy it as well or not? If not, could I buy it like 11 months after i purchase the mac mini?
Thanks for reading my questions, and all of the answers :)
The processor upgrade isn't going to buy you a lot more performance. Regarding the ram, Newegg would be a smarter place to buy it for sure but all in all, I wouldn't recommend you get 8 gigs. 4 gigs is more than enough for most users. You can buy Applecare 11 months down the road. Any bluetooth OR usb keyboard and\or mouse will work.

Above are two good options. My question is why you want to do it. Depending on that, it may be unnecessary or there may be a better way of doing what you want.

ShareTool by yazsoft will allow all your bonjour services to work through your VPN just as they do locally. This is the solution I use, and it works perfectly, even itunes home sharing works. This is the only solution I could find as from what I can tell Apple has designed bonjour to not work over VPN.

Looks like they made off with iPads for the most part. Easy grab and high resale.
Apple will track these with no doubt.
Looks like an inside job and store had NO real security other than 2 lightly locked doors.

Highest quality settings unless you HAVE TO step them down. Export it from Flash at high-quality, drop it onto Toast, and don't worry about, "Will it look good?"
If you must step down the quality....
1024x768 is currently my video resolution on a 12" PowerBook. Increase it to something higher than that for a safe buffer. Normal TVs will look OK, HDTVs won't IIRC.... not sure on HDTV resolution but normal TVs have a lesser resolution than most computers made in the last 8 years at least.
