Again, I'm not sure the pram is on this battery board. I would suspect anyways that the computer would overwrite something upon boot if the pram was present.. otherwise it would leave it as it was before.
I would imagine the system woudl have problems over the long term, but I'm only using it for itunes streaming with a power adapter.

As we all know the main focus for mac's is not gaming, however with my Mac pro recently arriving with the 3.2 quad and a 5870 GPU; what kind of gaming performance increase will I notice vs my 2010 iMac i7 with the mobility GPU card in it? I really don't want to disrespect any of you guys by asking this question as this is not why I bought my Mac Pro, and this is not a "gaming" forum, however I do game a little and I could not find any benchmarks that put the two side by side.
Let's use black ops, and maybe crysis as a means for making a comparison and any other key games you can think of, btw all gaimg is done via boot camp with windows 7 ult.
Really depends on the res you play at now.
As the resolution gets larger the 5870 pulls ahead in a bigger way.
Couldn't find any DX10 benches but here is Battlefield BC 2 (1920x1200, 4AA, 8AF, High Quality, DX10)
5750: 25.6 FPS
5870: 52.3 FPS
3D Mark 06:
iMac 5750: 15344
5870: 23640
3D Mark11 Enthusiast settings:

5750: 12.44
5870: 27.68
I don't have any problems playing anything at my 1680x1050 res. Including Metro 2033 (Much heavier than Crysis). I play Crysis maxed with 4xAA the only exception.

Hmm, yeah I think I've heard about that before. Thanks. I'll have to look around to see if there's a way to make it work with my mac, or I guess I could just use windows...
If you have an intel Mac then you may be able to use crossover (http://www.codeweavers.com/products/download_trial_macosx/) to get the windows drivers for the XboX controller to work under Mac OS X. I have used it to make the windows drivers for my Logitech Precision Gamepad to work and it is flawless for that purpose.

They seem to stop after the first issue, especially if the first issue is bad enough. If the app crashes, they can't look much farther. However a small number of developers have reported Apple rejecting an app and giving more than one reason. Don't count on it.

By all means get the polarizer and use it . It'll cut glare off the water and , if you go walking around the open , 'ponded' areas of Lox. it'll darken up the sky nicely and bring up any clouds . Hat and sunblock are also a good idea if you're like me and sunburn easily.

I ordered my MP yesterday with the 30" ACD. I figured it might have been a godsend that the ACDs weren't updated at Macworld. What if they were all glossy? What a nightmare that would be.

I bet Apple isn't going to release a hardware based GPS add-on anytime soon, but via software plug-ins-Google Maps or other earth/mapping sites.

What about the Cisco AnyConnect app? I keep reading old news how it'll be released when iOS 4 is - so where is it? I want this but can't find it in the app store. Or is it something your network admin has to get from Cisco and install for you?

After reading that, it makes me want my mac that much more even though I've been dieing and loosing sleep the last few days waiting for my new ibook. I used my brothers powerbook a few weeks ago and it sold me instantly. So now HOPEFULLY tomorrow if im lucky I'll get it but i doubt it. The best part about it is that I've been using crummy windows machines for all my life and it will feel good to finally use a mac.

Well, Pages can open and edit and save .doc files, and Keynote can do the same with .ppt files.
But formatting and the such can be an issue. NeoOffice/OpenOffice handles .doc and .ppt formatting better, from what I hear. I've never used OpenOffice extensively, so I wouldn't know.

Because Panther doesn't have direct Turkish support, I installed a "support pack" that the Apple IMC Turkey has published. After that, when I try to start Entourage, some of the writings has gone mad and they are replaced with some meaningless writing crap.. I guess that support pack has done something to my entourage font settings but how can I undo it???
by the way, I installed the pack on my former 12"PB months before and there was no problems, and I need that pack for the additional Turkish characters..It is not nice to double-post.
