I doubt it's a serious problem, just ignore it and just don't turn it off.

Can we get an article on these research companies/analysts?
Professional information traders. It's a legit business from both a technical and financial perspective. I'm amazed at how tightly Apple keeps things sealed up. Major products like this impact hundreds of companies. Analysts are trading information all up and down the supply chains about what is happening. A small company supplies resin for A5 encapsulation and has purchased production equipment to increase capacity in Q2, hmmmm. Analysts sort through tons of information to make projections. It's still a guess but a highly informed guess.

My 13" CRT can function as a display too. That doesn't mean it's going to give me good picture quality and high resolution. Cheap TV's are cheap for a reason.
HDTVs however, offer great res for a majority of things. I'm using a Samsung one right now while I wait for Apple or Dell to show their '08 hands (hoping for a 2708 or updated ACDs sometime soon) so who knows what point you were trying to make there. Have you even used one??

0.2*5=1
1-1=0
Grmpf, that should have been 0.2*6-1
Thanks for the hint and sorry for the typo. The text in my message above is now corrected.

Well guys, I jut got off tech support to told me they really don't support Macs and I asked him then why did the box say supports MacOX10.3, .4, and .5? The tech support guy did tell me to go to my Network System Prefs where I have a USB Ethernet (indicating the wireless adapter) that says "connected" and the Rosewill Utility that came with this unit shows me connected to my local network.
Somewhere there is a broken link between my Mac hardware and this wireless adapter. Anyone have an idea of what it could be? In Network Prefs I've tried using both DHCP and Manual IP, but neither have worked.
Thanks!

i did try setting compatibility mode in windows xp, it runs but its sort of buggy and crashes often, i would imagine it would be buggy under windows 7 too.
Parallels and vmware are too expensive for me, virtualbox is free but win98 runs very slowly and doesnt support guest additions, not to mention it crashes whenever vt-x is enabled
any other ideas? :)
Only thing would be to try it under 7, quite a time period between XP and 7 so the compatibility mode is probably a lot more stable.

Reinforcing stereotypical gender roles?
Yes, that was my thought. The amazing thing is the above ad is a real google ad that I've seen appear several times. I have to question the intelligence, or maybe their sense of self-worth, of anyone who would buy from these people - who's URL I did not list since I don't want to promote them in the slightest.

It's my understanding that Microsoft's cash infusion was more symbolic than anything else and helped forge a relationship that included the much more important agreement to continue making Office for the Mac. Furthermore, Microsoft was worried about a DOJ investigation and ensuring that Apple would continue on keep that particular dog quiet.
Microsoft has never done anything out of charity; there's always been profit in the company's actions and they deserve to get thumped a little bit.
That said, the MS programmers have a very difficult problem to solve, much of it created by people who worked on Windows more than a decade ago.
It was part of a patent lawsuit settlement. Apple had over $1 billion in cash on hand and $7 billion in annual revenue at the time of Microsoft's investment. Microsoft's $150 million didn't save Apple. This is a myth that just refuses to die. In reality, Apple saved Apple -- by changing the way they were doing business.

Cybergypsy has an opened 8GB iPhone but she doesn't want an iPod Touch, she will trade even for a 4GB iPhone. So if you can a hold of one of them, that'll work out for both of you.

I'd like to get a new 17" MBP and I'm wondering what the verdict is on SSD's... are third-party drives still a better option than the ones that come stock from Apple? If so, which brand/model is best? Also, what's the status with TRIM support and garbage collection in all this? Does Apple's current OS/hardware have either of these yet? If not, will Lion have TRIM support?

What is needed is a MacBoook Air with just 400 to 600 g and as small as possible (7-inch) with video out and USB ports. The Mac in your pocket!

Arrgh, Dj Vu! Theere wasn't an official Roman standard for the numbers, and some of the "Roman" numbers we use today are more recent inventions. Rerun (http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=993272&postcount=11).

This doesn't sound like an error from WebView itself, but an "error" page that's being served from the web application you're trying to access. Try spoofing the user agent.
BTW WebView always uses Safari's WebKit engine regardless of your default browser. That is if you make Firefox your default browser, your program wouldn't start embedding Firefox into your window.

Thanks. I was hoping to start leaving my laptop at home. A lot of hotels, even good hotels, don't have wi-fi in the rooms, but they do have a wired internet point of presence in every room. If I can't use an iPad under those circumstances, there's just no reason for me to get one.
I don't know if there is a way to directly get wired ethernet connection on to your iPad. I think probably not. But, one pricey solution is this:
Buy an Apple AirPort Express, a very small wifi router about the size of your palm. It will plug into the wired ethernet and broadcast wifi signal.

I downloaded some games for my Android phone. Doesn't mean I play them. I'm sorry, but having a controller is a very serious must.
On another note not related to the above comment, I would like to read the comments from those who have never played video games on this site. Since it's something that I've been exposed to for so long, it's interesting to see how ignorant people tend to sound when they speak of things they are not familiar with.

Thanks. To clarify, I'm not running surround (5.1). I just listen to music on 2.1 speakers. So, my question is simply whether there's any sound card difference between the mini and the iMac.
