You think that's the new iLife '06...? ;)
I don't know, you think they'll really hold out until June for iLife '06? :p
Everyone else, thanks for the comments but now I have question: twitch or bounce?

Was in my biochemistry of Nucleic acids class as things began to unfold. First heard about it after class let out. Had a spare before next class, went to the starbucks on campus to check out CNN, as we couldn't log on to site.

Think you may be waiting a while for CDMA version.
Over the weekend I was reading an article ( Globe and mail IRC ) that Telus are seriously considering starting a GSM network.
I did see rumors that Apple were talking to folks in Japan though... and Japan is all CDMA.
Still hoping...

Or make a deal with your neighbors and share their wireless network.
Excellent.
Cut-out the under-the-table deal that the manager may have with the sole provider.
(Except that you spelt neighbours incorrectly. This guy's a Brit.)

Last year I bought a Mahatma Gandhi Think Different poster (24 by 36) from eBay. The seller claimed to have attained it when he was working for Apple back during the campaign. The price was around 50 dollars if I remember correctly, and I thought this to be a good deal for an authentic. I'm not sure if they had any other poster auctions running at the time.
The poster arrived and I was happy with its fairly good quality.
However I recently read this (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1020134) thread, and I was worried after reading "I have an Edison and a Richard Feynman that I know are 100% originals and they do not have a copyright line on them. Neither does my Picasso, my Joan Baez, my Ghandi, or my Hitchcock. Only the ones I have gotten from Germany on eBay have the copyright line on them....the Buzz Aldrins, and a set of 6 of the 22x28" posters all have the copyright line on them." (- WardC)
I have attached a picture of the copyright line that does appear on my poster.
Should I assume I bought a fake? :(
Thanks.

Hi everyone
I have recently tried to install windows XP on my mac. What i think happened, was that i THOUGHT i was using bootcamp, but in fact it tried to install XP as the main operation system. In any case, i was stuck in the XP setup blue screen, without being able to complete the installation, get back to OS or even get the XP installer disc out. After spamming the Disc removal key, i finally got the disc out, but when i restarted the mac, a flashing folder showed up. I found out this was because the computer could not find a operating system to boot by. I plugged in the installation disc and tried to repair the disc but it could not. I finally gave up and tried to reinstall the whole thing, but it could not find the harddisc.
What i am asuming happened is: I must have said yes, when the XP setup asked me if i wanted to format the disc. This (ofcause) ment i could no longer run OS on the disc. I realise all my school work, notes and files are gone, what i want now is just my computer back with OS. How do i format the disc back so that i can reinstall OS on it? Please help, and yes i know it was very stupid to format the disc in the first place.

If I can remember correctly it was expensive, something like $250 which is why I passed on it, Maple Ridge auctions had one also, similar price.
One went here in the UK not so long ago for about 75 but not in as nice a condition as yours.
Hey thanks a lot! Glad I saved it now.

Whenever I would plug in my iPod Video, iTunes would become unresponsive and I would get the beachball. I'm running iTunes 10.1.2. I have a 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook. For some reason I feel like I've had this problem before but I don't remember how I fixed it.

I just ordered myself one of OWC's wicked new 6G SSDs, plus an optical drive bay adapter so I can put the stock rotating hard drive in place of the optical drive for extra storage.
I want to have a portable USB optical to take along in the bag when I'm doing repairs, though, and it seems like a waste to buy a brand new one and shelve the pull from my MBP in case of warranty repair. So I wanted to get a USB enclosure for it, preferably bus powered.
You can get one from MaxUpgrades for $25; they sell it as part of a kit with an optical drive bay adapter, but since I got one from OWC I'd just be ordering the drive case:
http://www.maxupgrades.com/istore/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&product_ID=186
...but once you add shipping you're looking at over $30, which is basically the price of a whole external. Has anybody bought one of those cases, and if so, was it nice enough in terms of build quality to be worth $30?
An alternate would be this Syba brand one from Newegg, which would end up being about $23 shipped:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817801052
Anybody by any chance tried that one? Other recommendations for a case for a slot-loading slim optical?

I'm running Lion DP2 off my WD external USB2 1TB drive.
I just created a new Mac OS X Journaled partition of 150mb and chose it from the "Show More Disks" option on the Lion installer.

It's funny. Even after all the time I've spent staring at the old page, now that it's changed I have no memory of what it used to look like. Does anyone have a screenshot of the old homepage??

I did a search (although my search may have been less than perfect) and didn't find a thread on this, so here goes...
Twice in the last 10 days my MacPro has locked up while browsing Safari. Fans go full speed and sounds like it's going to fly away. I have to hard shut down and when I do, the power light blinks off and on. No sequence, just off and on. I do a power reset by unplugging the tower for 30 seconds and pressing the power button to clear memory. Startup and all is good. I can't find anything in the logs that indicate a memory issue or possible graphics card problem.
Any suggestions?
P.S. I'm using an early '08 MacPro (2.8 8 core) with a WD SSD boot drive, 8 gigs of RAM and have the ATI Radeon HD 3870. I also ran Rember to test memory and that said everything was good.

Yeah, but if Apple want to compete in the media center market, they will have to produce a small box that will do all....ie put HDMI in Mac Mini (iTV could be a cut down version of this??)
DVI and HDMI are almost the same thing (do a search on Google for "dvi hdmi").
Well, HDMI also carries the audio signal, but you can get a cheap cable or converter to hook up your Mac Mini to a HDMI TV and use another cable for audio.

Baker Street predates me by a few years, but it seems like everyone I talk to can recall exactly what they were doing when they heard it for the first time... City To City was a great album.
He also wrote and sang a song on Mark Knopfler's Local Hero soundtrack, which is very good.
RIP Gerry. :(

The MacBook Air and the iPad are the future of portable computing. Thin, light, fast (SSD). Enough power to get the job done, not so much power you need 3 cooling fans and 3 lbs. of battery to do it.
It's not that the MacBook Air is evolving into a mainstream product. It's the mainstream that's evolving into MacBook Air-like products.
I heartily concur:cool:
