Yea, I suspect the power supply also. It disappears when I unplug it totally (no Gremlins ;-)). It strangely also disappears when I turn it on. I was just wondering if anyone else had this noise? If I am the only one, then I will call Apple abut it.
Yeah, I have the new iMac and I don't have that problem. Call Apple.

In the file menu, I now have an option (greyed out) for Transfer purchases from iPod...not sure what that means given you can't currently buy stuff direct from your iPod...and pretty sure it wasn't there in Itunes 6...sounds intriguing though!
Also - there a custom option for encoding rates from CD that takes you up to 320 kbps for AAC - can't remember that either in the previous version...
This transfers music that you purchase on one computer to another computer. In order for it to work, you must have an iPod which has sync'd with a computer with bought songs, and attach it to a second computer which is authorized to play those songs.
My question is this: the keynote treated this like a true 'sync', but it sure doesn't look that way. Does it do more than a 1-way copy? And, does it only (as the menu item suggests) work on iTMS purchased tracks, not ripped CDs?
This feature really sounded nice to me, letting me get rid of the nice but sometime buggy Senuti. But, maybe not.

Thanks. On the subject of editing. I know a track can be muted, but what about a region (section) without having to mute the whole track? Can a region be muted separately?
Yes it can. Click the downward arrow:

That's good advice. Alternatively, if you just want to store the files as data, don't forget that the iPod also acts as a Firewire HD, so you can store them as both music and data, if you have the room. In iTunes, click the "Enable Firewire HD mode" in the iPod settings. It will appear on the desktop as a storage device then.

I have a similar setup also. My "media center" is a mac mini connected to my TV. It has external drives that store all my media. I can access the data from my 2 macbook pros, iphones, and my apple tv in another room. It works great.
If you wen't with the two drive setup through the mac mini... why not make one drive nothing but the media storage hub. Then make the other drive the backup drive for everything in the house. (partition it 4 ways?) including a backup for the media on the 1st drive.
The way you described you would be backing up time machine backups. To me thats a little over redundant.... then again, you can never have too many backups.

I think this is what the CDMA iPhone is for and less likely VZW...
I said this same thing several threads back about the subject. I'm inclined to believe the same. If Verizon got a CMDA iPhone, it would be incidental to a China CDMA phone. Depending on the success in the market and the device tolerance, then a consideration would be given to the US market. Probably more than a year away at least and by that time Verizon is going to have much larger LTE adoption. We will see but I certainly think that if any CDMA phone is being made, it's for China.

If you are going for 2TB drives, the WD Caviar Green drives are among the favorites. It's been reported they have some issues regarding the high load cycle counts (http://www.google.com/#hl=en&sugexp=ldymls&xhr=t&q=WD%20caviar%20green%20high%20load%20cycle%20count&cp=10&pq=wd%20green%20high%20load%20cycle%20count&pf=p&sclient=psy&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=WD+caviar+green+high+load+cycle+count&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=6cbe03e6833a46ef) due to the firmware...

It's a bit of work, but the high load cycle counts due to excessive head parking can be prevented.

I have a 7d and I was wondering how important cf card speed is
currently i have a transcend 16gb 400x .. says the write speed is 30mbps ..
is that fast enough because I see lexar has 600x cards with 90mbps write ..
on cinema5d.com most of them use kingston 133x .. I guess that just answers my question but I wanted to get some opinions here

So today, for no reason, my iphone (3gs) started having the following problems:
1) Coming randomly out of standby (like I hit the home button).
2) No function at all from home button.
3) Phone displays "Charging is not supported with this accessory" and related messages and problems even when nothing is plugged in.
4) Sound out of speakers is about 10% of normal volume, even when at max.
5) Phone will randomly enter "voice command"
Some of these problems come and go, and there's other miscellaneous issues, but these are the most prominent ones.
My phone is out of warranty, so I can't get it fixed with apple. I suspect it might have something to do with the charging end, I took some dust out of there but it didn't change anything.

So, I think im going to buy the newest 2011 13" MBP today, but my friend is overing to trade his mid-2009 2.8 C2D MBP for it because he wants a 13".
Do you think the trade is worth it? The extra space would be really nice. Would you do it and which benchmarks faster? Which is better on paper? Thanks!!

iPhone to "borrow" from Disney Mobile's (http://disneymobile.go.com/) GPS Enabled Family Locator(TM)
http://www.globalhempstore.com/images/disney-mobile-family-locator.jpg
The Disney Mobile phone is a family-oriented phone service. Apple's upcoming "iPhone" will of course be marketing to the masses. However, some features will most likely be "borrowed" from Disney Mobile and of course built-upon / improved, such as Family Locator(TM).
After viewing the following, you should notice a that Apple's iChat and iPhone will be nearly one and the same! So, rather than locate your kids, your kids become your Buddy List. The Buddy List will be organized into groups: family, work, friends, etc. In addition, Apple could fairly easily implement more into the mapping feature, such as nearby Apple stores, Starbucks, McDonalds, etc.
In additon, Disney Mobile has downloadable extras such as:
- Ringtones
- Images
- Themes
- Games -- think new iPod Games!
- Movies.com Movie Finder: $2.99/mo subscription service with movie info, times, locate theater, etc... all or which could be integrated with mapping service to actually locate the closest theater.. heck, even someday purchase tickets via your mobile phone or even make reservations at restaurants such as Chili's with your iPhone!
From Disney Mobile Web site:
Family Locator allows you to locate your kid's phone with GPS technology and display a map of the location.
First Select Menu
Then, select Family Center
Then press OK
Scroll to Family Locator
Then press OK
The first you you use the service, you'll be required to enter your PIN, then agree to the terms of service...
Select the kid's phone you wish to locate
Enter your PIN
Press OK
The application begins to search... the following results are displayed:
Joey is near:
1231 Any Streer
Los Angeles, CA
- Accuracy 10 yards
After receiving an address, you can access an area map to get a better view of the location of your child's phone.
From the location page... select Map.
An area map will appear with a shaded circle indicating the reported location and accuracy range.
Use the NAV KEY to view surrounding area.
Then you can zoom in and out... by pressing ZOOM.
Select a different zoom level by using the NAV KEY
This feature is also available on the web which allows you to locate your kid's phone with GPS technology and display a map right from your computer without using your phone.
Google Maps are already available for mobile phone: Just visit www.google.com/gmm (http://www.google.com/gmm) on your mobile or desktop web browser.

And if next year half of new ones uses displayport, is it still useless?
Yes because its maximum resolution is 2500x1600 and DVI already satisfies that, it doesn't really matter at this point. It doesn't transmit audio like HDMI. Honestly the only benefit to it, is the increased distance it can run (15m).

Just in my opinion it could be better if you add images of a person/kid/personnel + computer. Straight to the point, easily understand, coz you put the most important catchy part of the site, which is the apple products in the middle which is totally not related to the services that you offer, and even if you do, it still look better with understandable image that is related to your service.
