I have been reading the last few posts about saving the 4.3.1 SHSH Blobs "before its too late" and I couldn't understand how it could ever be too late, after all, how can my iPad get updated with anything unless its connected to iTunes.
I looked at TinyUmbrella and it looks likes this only applies to 3G iPads.. Could someone confirm if this is the case? And if not, what I (as a non-3G iPad 2 owner) needs to do now..
Currently I am on 4.3 and am waiting for a working Jailbreak before I do anything else regarding firmware.

BTW, The name of the software i used to fix it (the demo only does around 9 seconds worth) is called Video Repair Tool v.1.6. Has anyone found any software similar to this that is cheaper? i believe from what i have read the "moov" file is either corrupted or missing....

I'm still wondering how in the hell they are paying for all these free services offered to 10's of thousands of members (inc. me :D)...it just baffles me
i doubt they automatically set aside 1gb of space. i bet each user only uses as much space on the server as info they have on it. if a user signs up and never uses the service, only a few bytes are used, not a full gig.

Storage is truly a subjective matter. From a long term perspective, it will all depend on your needs & how many images you shoot/ expect to shoot. Anything you do, should have a redundancy back-up, whether it be a duplicate HDD, DVD's or storage online. However, as has also been pointed out, there is no need for Black's/ 7200 drives, when it comes to archiving. Green's/ 5900's are quite sufficient.
The following is my own experience with how I needed to adjust for future growth:
When I switched to Digital SLR's in I invested in a pair of 500GB Seagate Free Agent External HDD's, to back up my images to. In I added a pair of 1TB Seagates in an External Enclosure, and configured them in RAID 1. This device is connected via FW800, and is blazing fast, where as the USB driven Free Agent's, seem to move at a snails pace, though they are USB 2. Up to this point my DSLR's only shot on avg an 8-10MB Raw File, so I wasn't burning through storage, all that fast. However, as newer tech has come out, larger files were inevitable. During the Spring of I added (4) 2TB Caviar Green's in a Gigabit Network Array (NAS), and configured them in RAID 10 (1+0), thus giving me 4TB's of Storage, that I can access from anywhere. During the Fall of I added the 5DMKII to my gear line-up, and well 25MB+ Raw Files, are consuming storage much faster than I had previously. I have since filled up almost 2TB's on the NAS. Aside from all the Storage Arrays, I also have a Mac Pro, and have 3 1TB HDD's in it. Two are linked together in an OSX Raid 1 Config, the other 1TB is purely a scratch disk for CS5/ FCP, with my other non 1TB being my OS.
Based on my experience, and knowing that I will be needing more storage space, more than likely by the Fall of I will be adding 3TB drives to the Mac Pro, and expanding the storage capability of the External Enclosures, with 3TB Drives. Relatively speaking storage is cheap, and its better to have too much storage, than not enough.

I'm going to call them as soon as I can. Do they have a limit of one per person, why didn't you buy two?
They have a limit one per person per day. So if you buy 1 you have to come back tomorrow to buy another. Also, you cant hold item. First come first serve.
I was there 7.40 am yesterday to get mine. Store opens at 8 everyday.

How many cameras out there support this. Some cell phones with camera & GPS exist, Motorola just intro a new Nextel phone with camera and Navigation.
I am not sure I am going to pay all the extra money to have the GSP antenna and chips added to cost of my camera. I think I can remember where a picture was taken.

Yep, I'm with you on that. It already bugs me that my Prius has a black box for accidents and a GPS built in (for the nav system.) Why do we *trust* this government to not ask companies to turn that information over (just like they asked for our phone records) and for these corporations getting billions in tax incentives to eagerly comply? Now if you carry a GPS, government will be able to know where you are at any moment. I'm not buying it unless Apple includes a pledge with the product that they will fight to protect my legal rights if any government agency asks for these records without probable cause.
Um hello...
GPS units do NOT broadcast out to the world your location. They recieve only.
Now, your cell phone broadcasts out your location to the world, but you don't seem too worried about that now do ya?
Now, if indeed this is an iPhone, then you're already broadcasting your location so who cares... but GPS units all by themselves only receive signals from satelites.

I really like the new design! I'm not a web designer, but I think the info is presented in a more easily-accessible format than the old one.
Thank you for putting up the old version so we can compare. I think this new one is clearly better, altho I agree with previous posters that the google ads take up a bit too much space.
I think it would be impossible to come up with a format that pleases everyone, and I'm sure in time the people who don't like it now for various reasons will get used to it.

Are you willing to start a music portal? It is the right path for record labels, artists, music clubs, music stores and many more people in music field, to increase their brand visibility and get popular. Also, fans of any artists, bands, lyricists, or musicians, can evince their love by building an effective and successful community for them using volume.
Volume is specially designed to setup a music website for music lovers. It can be used to build an online music community. It lets community members chat, share the latest music news, give feedback on the songs etc. There is no limit to number of songs that can be uploaded.
Owning a musical site is one of the easiest ways, through which an individual can build a personal music library and/or showcase ones own work. It lets site members share favorite music, or new music within a community. Apart from sharing music, they can also share favorite videos or newly composed tracks. Site members can use billboards on their profile to advertise their products and services. You can easily customize all your web page as per your exquisite taste. It can be installed easily.
The webmasters can edit site settings, metadata settings, SEO settings, system settings, user settings, media settings, debug settings, cache settings, session settings, server settings, local time settings, FTP settings, Database settings and mail settings, easily through the admin interface. It offers bulk messaging service, through which webmasters can send a single message to all members of a specific genre such as artists, listeners, super administrators etc.
Start a community site purely dedicated to music, at a cost of only $147.
Check the demo and see for yourself how you can start your own music portal using Volume.

To the best of my knowledge, that's not how Spotlight works. It indexes on the go such that if you make a new file, save it and quit, it'll instantly be in Spotlight. It doesn't go through and reindex periodically.
More likely, they're just random computer processes that are keeping the hard drive running. I think you're right in assuming the drive is fine, but keep regular back ups all the same, irrespective of clicking noises. :)

Sure. After using it for no more than one minute. The battery life is far better!

This makes me sad.
Nothing to be sad about, Apple have a lot talented (as talented as these Hackers) engineers testing and researching the firmware, at some point they will find same holes and exploits as the hackers, that is their job, other time they won't. It is the nature of the development cycle.

I haven't seen any definite confimation. From what I've read the iPhone will be released to more countries on that date and the Philippines is one of the countries listed as coming soon.

What were you expecting out of the new one that makes what came out seem so bad.
I think the disappointment centers on the GPU & screen. The 13" Air has higher Res and better GPU. Apple could have done better but since the full redesign isn't until next year, the ODD stayed and the GPU suffered. The masses will still buy them so I'm sure Apple doesn't care if a few of us grip.
Cheers,
