Makes more sense to me that Apple would work to standardize AirPlay as a built-in feature of all new HDTV's, blu-ray players, and other set top boxes like Apple TV. In addition to AirPlay input to the HDTV, the HDTV would do AirPlay output from a TV connected webcam/microphone (if any). I don't see Apple trying to sell actual HDTVs, but the iPad would make a great SmartTV content controller that would replace the need for an Apple TV module.
The existing Apple TV could just evolve into an iOS app.
Nobody is going to replace their $1000 TV with one that will be obsolete in 2 years. But a $99 box that hooks up to your TV is a no-brainer.
Also, how funny is the article image here? The analysts who are making this prediction should have a big L stamped on their forehead.

Yes. It's a great machine and very capable. I don't experience any overheating issues or such. However, at night, when I'm asleep, I run it on a cooling pad in the kitchen for those "just-in-case" moments. However, during the day, I just run it without the cooling pad since it's pretty loud.
My first thought was; the AIR is loud?? but then I realized you meant the cool pad :eek:

Apple will be stupid, make their TV the same shape as the others and be sued by everyone.

I'm not so sure the next iPhone will look like the current iphone 4. It probably will be, but i don't know.. They're delaying it and with the white one just released (which of course looks the same).. They've handed out prototype A5 iphones to developers just to make sure the new design won't be leaked. I think Apple could come out with a surprise regarding the design of the next iPhone.
It wouldn't make sense for the iPhone 5 to have the same design as the iPhone 4. Think about it. You have two great phones out now, the iPhone 4 and the new white iPhone 4. Apple's main goal is to make money. With that many phones sold, would it make more sense to sell another phone that looks exactly the same as the one many people have or give them something completely new to upgrade or buy off contract to?

This patent clearly reminds me the one-time very popular misic instrument - TermenVox. The same method of operation. BTW - it's almost 100 years old. :-)

Still no way to show week number in the calendar. It makes planning a bother for many people world wide. We need our week numbers! it's just one parameter called week Apple. And it's already there in language and text under format .

I would argue they helped themselves. They may have needed some sort of boost but they helped themselves. Someone can make a conscious decision to help themselves if they are strong enough. No one is addicted to alcohol. I would argue people are not addicted to drugs. Mind over will. Try it. Like Charlie said that Nike says, Don't attempt it, "Just Do It".

I apologize for the big letters. I'm a mac newb and this will be my first mac. I have been waiting for this new macbook to buy and whats funny is that I walked into the Mac Store yesterday, the guy new everything about the product but seemed a little too clueless about the product cycle. He was like.. "uh, could be next February but no one ever knows". I asked how releases are typically handled for macs. He replies "I'm not really sure. It's anyone's guess". So I knew he was trying to avoid talking about it.

I've just downloaded the update on mymiPhone and iPad and i noticed in the General Setings now there is a multitouch gestures button to enable this function. It suports 4 fingers up to show the app switcher, 4 fingers to the sides to switch apps and 5 fingers to the centre to go to the home screen.
It works great!

Kids are only as responsible as their parents. Would you give your kid $1000 cash to walk around the mall with and blame the store if they sold the kid a pack of gum using your cash? Of course not. It's not the kid's fault, 100% irresponsible parents. They gave their kids a form of payment (yeah, an iphone is an electronic payment method just like a credit card), and but not for that action the charge wouldn't have taken place. I don't want to have to press BUY 5 times and enter my password 5 times because Shaniqwa can't supervise her 8 kids who she gives an iPod with a billing account tied to her name to. SUPERVISE YOUR CHILDREN, IT'S NOT THE GOVERNMENT NOR APPLE'S RESPONSIBILITY TO BE THEIR PARENT, IT'S YOURS.

You do know there are clear cases used to protect the phone from scratches, right? And rigid "bumper" style cases that still show off the front and back. Not every case covers up the entire phone.

Sorry that not makes the sense to me; also Steve said they looked at desktop touch screens and they suck, I highly doubt that the new iMac will ship with touch screens; it would be crazy, especially on a 27 inch display.

Apple's 256kbps VBR files didn't do me any good with my last car stereo by JVC. The JVC would play AAC, but not VBR AAC. So I could either convert Apple's AAC VBR to regular AAC (extra conversions are bad for sound quality) OR just buy something that plays out of the box (i.e. Amazon 256 VBR MP3). I chose the latter. I'm not sure about my new stereo that came with my WRX (it plays AAC, but I haven't tested a VBR one), but it doesn't matter much sincee that head unit won't be around much longer. Now that Amazon is cheaper to boot, it's not even a question, really. I prefer buying CDs and transferring it myself, though if I want a whole album.
