What do you mean by 5 extra lines?
Probably a poor choice of words from my side.
I mean that the last 5 lines of the page were transferred to an extra page.

Hey gang. This is my first time posting, but I've been following the site for a couple of months now, waiting in vain for news of the MBP w/ a Core 2 Duo ;-) yes, another one of THOSE people.
Anyway, this is the first of a series I did. Probably more forthcoming, some of them came out really well.

Confirmed with the store they will have walk in iPhones available. Guy said they will have people lining up by the AMC theatre doors until 6am when they open the mall doors. He didn't know about security rules about being on property before 6am. I am probably going to head down around 4:30 - 5am.

I'm guessing what's happening is since your window is an NSPanel it is not registered as a main window, so after the About box closes, it doesn't have a main window anymore and terminates. You could try subclassing NSPanel and overriding canBecomeMainWindow and return YES, then use this subclass in your nib.

It doesn't even really look that great. You have to purchase an entire kit (hd, kb, mouse, DVD,...) just to run linux on there :(
A good point. By the time PS3 is out, it might even be cheaper (at least not much more expensive) to just buy a G5 mini ;) and set it to Fold 24/7. Just hate to think of that h/w sitting in my closet doing nothing...

So do you think, buying the i7 would make it lag less or even better not lag at all?
Depends if the bottleneck is the CPU or GPU. I am assuming it is the GPU, so you would feel no difference between i7 and i5, as they both have the same GPU chip.
IF the CPU is limiting performance, then you would very well have better performance with the i7.
EDIT: It seems the i7 has a slightly higher GPU base clock rate of 1300 Mhz compared to 1100 Mhz on the i5. How that translates into practical performance is not know to me though.

Right now, I have copied all of my photos and videos to cds and dvds, so I here ya that protecting one's 'family memories' are priority. However, with a vast collection, do photographers burn photos and videos to discs? I think a Blu-Ray player would help since they hold up to 25 GB and 48 GB or so respectfully. Can an individual burn non-HD content to Blu-Ray discs? I should research before I assume!
Also, as of now, I save non-keepers, but I do not have a lot of photos. At least not yet. :D Although, I have deleted photos, but I still have some blurry photos and crappy videos.
Thanks for reiterating the importance of a backup plan!
CDs and DVDs are certainly one way to do it. I know plenty of people still use them as another layer of backup and if you have the discipline and are shooting lots of pics it can be a good way to catalog shoots. I stopped using CDs and DVDs a few years back. Hard drives are just too inexpensive now and it was just too much of a hassle for me to burn sets of photos, store, and keep up with individual discs. With my job I move frequently and it's just another thing to loose. I opted for the simplicity of Time Machine (or similar program) and redundant backups and I'm happy with it. The simplicity and automation really make sure I actually do the backups which is the most important part ;).
I stopped saving non-keepers a few years ago too and it cut down on my workflow a lot. There's nothing wrong with saving everything but I found that I was wasting a lot of time dealing with them and trying to save borderline images. The first thing I do know is go through several culling sessions when I download the camera and cut out everything that's not a "keeper" for me. I delete them and forget them. I find I'm not spending a lot of time on borderline shots and I'm only spending time in post processing on what I thought were the few best shots of the bunch. I do tend to keep more family pictures though because they are more about recording the moment. Hope all this helps.

My only issue is that they clearly had a working JB for 4.3. Why all the sudden the secrecy on why it couldn't be released?
My question is if they are/were having such an issue with it, why not reach out? Not everyone in the community is a engineer, coder, or hacker, but I bet if we got my heads involved to solve it we would have a working JB for all out iPad 2's by now.

are you in the uk or ireland? it uses 220 power. I would not be able to comment on it I don't think it sells in usa we have 110/120 power.
I live in Italy, so no problems as we have 220 v power. What I was interested in is the quality of the device. At a first look it seems to me it is a firewire aluminium enclosure with a LG R/W optical drive inside (but I am not sure).
Best Regards

What is the current utilization?
Typically phones are placed in their own VLAN.
What speed is the Internet connection?
Any connections to remote sites?
What type of loads are the various computers placing on the network?
What type of wiring is in place?
Do the switches/routers have UPS's?
Are there any bottlenecks that devices are currently experiencing?

Want to put up a 4-disk RAID5 array (not to boot off, just storage, boot drive will be from an SSD) into the 4x drive bays on the Mac Pro 5,1 and don't want to use the Apple RAID card that takes advantage of the internal drive channels as I herd bad things about it the apple card and its not too hot on specs either.
So I am pondering whether to go for something like the:
ARC-1880LP
http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Areca/ARC1880LP/
With this card I'll have 4x 3TB drives in RAID5 and 2x SSD in 5"25 with Multi-mount adapter. Will probably have to use the two onboard SATA2 ports for the SSD's considering there's only one set SATA power/data connector set left that I can use that was intended for the ODD. Or is there more sata/power connectors there or can I buy/connect more?
Or use something like the Areca ARC-1880-ix-12 that can be connected to some 12x internal drives via SAS expanders. With this card I can connect both the 4x 3TB HDD RAID5 volume and 2x 6G SSD (non-raid) to it at same time.
Does anyone have any experience with any of the above cards? e.g ease of setting up, bugs, reliability etc. Also does it get messy cable wise when you don't use the apple raid card and run the SAS expanders to the drives? How did you go about flashing the card to EFI firmware ?
Which other 6G RAID cards can you recommend that I can connect 4x HDD in RAID5 and 2x 6G SSD's (non-raid) to, if there's a good one that takes advantage of internal drive channels it would be a plus.

I don't know specifically about the jailbreak but I'm guessing that if you go in to the Apple store for your broken home button, they will give you a different phone (refurb).
That may make this a moot question.
When the guy goes to get your new phone just say "hey man can you do me a favor? No 5K?". He'll get it. Worked for me last night. Got a nie new non-refurb phone.

Look what happened to Dell when they focused on volume at the expense of their profit margin.
I can't say Acer will be successful, but they probably can't have too much of a positive long term view with a diminishing profit margin
