A. Which version of Xcode?
B. What kind of file are you pasting into? .cpp, .mm, something else?
C. If you disable syntax coloring, does the problem disappear?

the ipad 2 just came out. Can you at least give it a month before talking about jailbreak.
more than 1/5 the world do not have theirs yet. Like people in villages of Africa are waiting, people in Asia as well. People from rural america as well.
Chill
if the devs didn't want people begging for a jailbreak, they wouldn't publish a screenshot weeks and weeks prior to actually releasing it. they get off on it... which is why they do it every single time. threads like this annoy me too, but the best solution is to just ignore them.

What, $0.99 a call everytime? ;)
Only if you pre-order the call or in the week you had scheduled to do the call. After that, it will go up to $14.99...... :D

ok so in itunes if I "convert to aac" is that taking my 320 and breaking it down?
I don't understand the last part, but I presume you meant to ask how iTunes transcodes to 320Kbit/s? Go to Preferences in iTunes like shown here (http://ipod.about.com/od/introductiontoitunes/ss/importsettings.htm) and select AAC and the bitrate you want and then you can re-rip the audio CDs.

yeah I saw that earlier...if they can get some sweet games on there then it might be some viable competition! i wonder what the specs are?
1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655
512MB of RAM
1GB of ROM
~4" Screen
Word is that it'll have a PSP Marketplace for games (in addition to the Android Marketplace) - and I'll guess the ribbon ui will be incorporated somehow.

You know, I always do that. Of course, I never saw the checkbox to the left of it. Figures.
Thanks.

between this and the new Spymac... 2004 will feel so fresh!
I also just saw video snack bar menus at my AMC theater which totally made me feel like I was in the future! Hooray for new things!
Oh, and this new MacRumors design is coo... feels much more volumetric.

or if some user is trustworthy just create an optimum ID for an overseas person so they get their own email address but can't do anything to the parent account.
That's exactly what I was thinking. I'll have to test if only the master account works in the iPad app.

As opposed to travelling accidentally? :D
Seriously though, you have my sympathies; roaming rates are horrendous. We often complain about "high prices" here in NZ but we really don't understand how lucky we are; unlocked phones, no falling back to 2G, don't pay for incoming calls...
That was the iPad auto spell check. That should read "internationally."

I saw 1 go for 12k! Crazy!
I saw that one too, the buyers account was apparently canceled after he sent the sell an email telling him it was a joke (heard that on another forum)

I think if you still have a 3GS, you should bump to an iPhone 4. If you have an iPhone 4 I would stick with it til ver 6. I agree with what this report is saying. The faster processor and camera will most likely make it's way to the phone, but Apple will likely stop there and wait for a screen size improvement for a later version. Apple is not known for just upgrading all of a device's components at once. They tinker with a couple things and slap a new version number. It's what happened with the iPad2. Many expected a higher res screen, but that would have been too many component upgrades.

I have an ultimate 11 inch machine. 4 gigs, 1.6 processor. The 4 gigs is perfect, but
1) I would like the processor to be a little bit faster. Some apps that I run, are just a "bit" laggy.
2) I would also like 256 gig SSD. I actually think I need about 200 gig.
3) I would also like a bit more physical screen size.
It's almost perfect.
If by "a bit more physical screen size" you meant a bigger display, you have just described the 13" MBA, 1.86GHz with 256GB SSD and 4GB of RAM, $1699 ($1799 with a 2.13GHz processor).

Or follow a nice, easy iPhone dev related Twitter list, which includes all the main players, like this one:
http://twitter.com/Aubin/iphone-jailbreak-teams
This also allows you to follow all the irrelevant re-tweets comex does, as if anyone cares what he thinks about non-jb topics.

If they had them, and consequently added probably $100 or more to the price of the display, would you actually commit to buying one... today?
Possibly, but that's a limitation on LCD tech in general which will get better with time, but Apple LCD's at present are probably among the best computer LCD displays available. I don't know what else you'd do until the tech itself improves... except to say this: Those who are really serious about color, clarity and contrast should stick to CRT's for the time being. Nothing beats a Trinitron in this arena.
Probably... but the greater likelihood is that graphic designers who tend to buy the higher end Apple LCD's don't. Matte displays are far better for accurate color and contrast. Glossy displays falsely enrich the image, which is a problem if you're trying to maintain a color match from prepress to proof.
BANG ON MAN, BANG ON.

How come I'm really not surprised...maybe it's because I figured this would happen eventually several years ago when Microsoft bought VirtualPC. Too bad that they don't have a version of VirtualPC that runs on x86 hardware...oh, except for the version of VirtualPC for Windows...you can ignore that.
But considering how Microsoft has been dropping its limited Mac line left and right, it's really not too much of a surprise. With the stiff competition from those people who are actually doing some work and coming out with products.
How does Microsoft keep in business? When was the last time they released a major new product that made money? Office 2004? And that was for the Mac!
I certainly could be wrong about some things, but when you consider that Microsoft's two major money makers (Office and Windows) have been in hibernation for several years. Practically any other technology company that sat around that long would have been smeared off of the map!

Yes, they have a booth.
No, I didn't go in - I would have yelled at some poor booth drone about the sorry state of QuickBooks for Mac for a good 45 minutes if I had.
Another company that has turned a cold shoulder towards the Mac recently who supposedly has a booth this year (though I must have not seen it in the West Hall yesterday): EMC Insignia. I need to go back to the show, track down their booth, and yell at one of their poor booth drones about the sorry state of Retrospect for Mac. :D
